So if you guys were in my shoes where would you start first, if you were looking to do compounds and NOT looking to get huge hp an tq numbers just a good over all dd.

1. trans, Mike L
2. injectors, what % over's 30,45, 60?
3. then compound? S480/96/1.15 over the 65mm
4. WAY down the road, internals?

Just trying to get as much info as I can.:thumb::D

Most of the delay you see when you floor it to pass someone is the truck downshifting. If you will manually click it down a gear or two (depending on speed), you will see a lot quicker response.

Injectors or tranny then compounds. If you have the right tuning you may not even want the compounds. A real 600+ hp is pretty useful but will be much nicer with the compounds. The wow factor will come with the injectors. The tranny not so much if a wow. The compounds will be another wow factor.

I would even probably look at 100% injectors. That will get you close to a stock duration at 500hp.

What's the going rate for an injector install? I guess it depends on the shop. But whats a reasonable price to pay?

It maybe a hour more to it depending on what has been done to the truck. The very cheapest I have heard of anyone doing them is 800 bucks and I wouldn’t let them touch my vehicle.

I know you have heard about getting paid for your knowledge and not necessarily for what you do.

Looks like trans and injectors first. Thanks for the input. I see Lincoln diesel is a vendor here. And there injectors which I think are (reman), which is fine with me. Because they are cheaper. Anyone suggest new or reman injectors? and another company? I know energy is another but there pretty pricey.

Ok thanks.

It looks like I might have limped the truck not to sure. I got a code p0070 mil request from the trans. From doing a quick read it a “general code” indicating the check engine like to come on from the tcm. Looks like a trans will be in the very near future.
