So I'm doing them finally and absolutely getting rid of dead weight.

My shocks are DD401s, I chose the shorter ones due to the mounts and how low I want to run the front end.

And chose bearings for response, and cause Dan told me too...

Like Todd I still chose the 10" 900lbs ones.

I went expensive and instead of welding something.....I bought it.

Interesting, the price went up 8 bucks in 12 hours.

I think that is the same setup as the truck pictured below. The spring is almost all the way down.

When you say you got bearings, do you mean bearings in the ends or on top of the springs?

Yeah, the part number you posted comes with the bearings in the ends instead of a bushing. That's what had me confused. I wasn't sure if you were talking about the bearings that came with the shocks or if you got some bearings like the ones shown in the picture I posted.

I'm curious Josh.....what shocks come with roller bearings?
None of them come with the bearings like I posted, but they can be ordered with the bearings like you posted. The bearings I posted are called thrust bearings. The DD401 has a bearing mount, and the DD402 is the same shock with a poly mount.

From QA1's website:

DD401 Proma Star Double Adjustable Bearing 11 1/2 - 12 1/2 9 / 10 10.125 14
$284.95

DD402 Proma Star Double Adjustable Poly 11 1/2 - 12 1/2 9 / 10 10.125 14
$284.95

I actually wonder if the bearing would hold up to the pounding on the end of the spring. It would defintely make adjusting the springs a lot easier with a bearing instead of a flat washer.

shit, and I thought Josh was being funny with the thrust bearing picture.....
No, I was being serious. They are a product QA1 sells to make adjustments easier. We used them when we did the coil overs on the race truck. I was trying to add some info to the thread, but whatever.

You have a part # Josh? I didn't realize they had already came up with what I was trying to sort out in my head.

On Edit: LOL at you two trying to be dicks when he's adding valid information to the thread. Learn something new everyday huh?
