I won't post ET's because I don't think tire spinning passes on 22" street tires represent what it's really capable of.
2.3 to 2.5 60's vs 1.80's I can cut on 28" slicks...but I don't like the way it goes through the gears on the short tires.

Casper ran a 12 @ 120, and it's one of most memorable passes. :D

Nothing like a 600' burnout through 4 gears in 4x4 to grab your attention.

ahahahaha, of course you dont.

so mid 12's right? wow, Id call everyone on a Dmax board out with those times.

And what the hell do you mean you havent figured out traction? 2.3 60 vs. 1.8 60s seems like you figured it out, maybe tahts all that cummins has in her

There are 29" Nittos on 18", you will have to heat them up, but they can be driven on the street. They are also very safe and controllable, unlike some drag slicks on big power diesels. Pull every ounce you can from the front of the truck, and add 200lb+ as far back as possible, a hitch with weights is good. If you can launch in 2nd gear it will help. Launching is a fine art, and is very dependent on track prep.

There. I just had to make sure no "fun" thread got away with zero tech content. :D

What's super secret about it again ?
It's all over the internet, it's been seen at many of the biggest diesel events in the country, been featured in one mag and about to be in 2 more.

What EXACTLY is secret about it ? LOL

LOL well hopefully at some of those events it can be seen raceing. Why dont you call me out my trucks slow but at least it will be a real person to race? and its LMM :D

Allow me to elaborate so you'll understand better.
2.3 60' on 22" street tires with THIS motor.....not representative of what it could actually do with better traction. I won't speculate on what it might do...because I don't know. On one pass it spun so bad it ran a 14.3 at
111.9 mph. Does that mean it's a 14 second truck ? I guess it was on that pass.

1.8 60' on 28" tall ET Streets with my OLD motor...the 6.0.
I didn't like the way it short shifted the trans so I sold those to someone that wanted them.

I'm shopping for something in the range of 31-32.5" tall now...

To the original point of the thread....and I've answered this already...I didn't call this guy out to race. I called this guy a liar.
That's why it's posted here instead of the "CALLOUT" forum.

We all have waaaaaay to much time on our hands today. This is about the dumbest thread I've ever spent half an hour on. Need old Sillyboy to come and make at least one post.

:threadjacked:A quick tech question for Pat on drag slicks. Is there a way to run street legal slicks safely on a big power 4x4's on the track? Rob tried a set last fall and damn near ate the wall. Tire pressure problems was about the only thing he could come up with. We're talking about a 11.7 stock motor truck, not a big power one.

I've seen several trucks running true slicks on all 4 corners...most tend to run some sort of drag radial though.
M & H has some really nice new sizes out there. As wide as a 390.

Ah-hah!!! I found it. It wasn't sillyboy, it was his "NEPHEW" that had the nuclear turbo.

Ugh. Him. Unfortunately yes I know Jay (Jaydcc69) Related. Younger nephew. He has his problems even at his age. Bad parenting I will throw that at you. Let's not go there. Made me look bad when someone at my dealership told me he came into the service yappin his mouth off when he blew the turbo ON A NEW TRUCK and demanded it replaced then he goes name dropping me. I believe he is away up in Wisconsin for a vacation for a bit. Same IP? Well he DOES come here and use the same wireless between the two houses. Try explaining that to PayPal when they see 2 different accounts, 2 different names, different info and same IP.

I bought the truck looking to pull the Audi to the track when my Audi club goes to do some laps and also pull my boat. Adding things here and there was an addiction.

I can't believe I took the time to look this chit up.

The handling problem is caused by softer tires in the rear than the front. Soft bias-ply tires out back with stiff tires up front makes the rear try to steer for you. To get a feel for it, drop your stock rears to 20psi and put the front at 80PSI and drive around. Then put the fronts at 20, and rears at 80.

This has been a big problem with late model car drag racers, and is probably the number one reason folk go into the wall, closely followed by stabbing the brakes when the rear gets sideways.

Even if you CAN keep it straight enough, if you must steer quickly or brake going down the track, you're going to loop it. A piece of debris, some oil, or the other car coming across is going to leave you no options. You must just "drive through" and not react.

Slicks (cheater) on all four will work, we really can't put "skinnies" on our trucks due to weight, or at least dropping the front tires down low will help. Ballast won't help, since when it does come around, the ballast adds inertia to the spin.
