The shop in question is more than welcome to post a rebuttal in this thread.

We were requested to remove this thread, and while I still maintain that it's best for the owner of truck to post his experiences with a shop, it is also important for web forums to permit feedback from shops who's work might be sub-standard. I'm not saying that the shop in question does substandard work because I did not witness it personally, but the information posted here points in that direction.

There are literally hundreds of Duramax owners who have gotten a poor Allison rebuild by many different shops out there, and it's a significant issue in the Dmax community. There is a reason I always recommend Mike L to those who ask, because I know first hand the quality of his work, and the lengths he goes to for customer service.

350whp in subie....cant you do that with intake, exhaust, tuning, didnt know the motor had to be out to do all that lmao

I made about 370-380 awhp on what would be comparable to a mustang dyno. And that was on a stock 2.0... with 172k miles (2.5's have tougher rods stock). There are no factory turbos on a subaru that will make 350awhp on a mustang dyno (close, but not quite 350 real wheel hp), but building the motor is a waste if the power goal is that low...

I'm bored at work so I emailed him and asked if he could build a trans for 900hp said that's more then his typical build is designed for. I think stock power it more then his builds are designed for.

I'm letting this thread stand because it's an important "public service" announcement for the hotrodders here.

However, what I don't want is a lot of is "vendor A says vendor B sucks". That causes way more problems than it cures.

In the future, it's best for the actual enduser to post about negative experiences.

I'm not making a rule about this, and it will be decided on a case-by-case basis, but think about the correct way to present such data, and use good judgement. There is no guarantee that such threads will always be permitted.

I wanted to leave this on DP for the same reason. Aparently AF is a little more concerned about the suit in question. I'm more concerned about the next me that saves for his trans 2 years and then has to pay someone like Mike or Dustin to build it again correctly.

They have a C- rating with the BBB for unresolved complaint(s)
When a company is in a location that they have unlimited customers they lure you in with cheap prices, once they have your money customer service is out the door. If you dont like there service move out of the way because they have another customer in line for the next deal. My BBB report is A+ because i make sure 100% of my customers are happy. And for all you business people that are reading this know that its not easy keeping 100% of the customers happy. :thumb:

In my normal business (Quality Inspection), nearly all my customers found me by word-of-mouth. More than 99%. "Jim Smith told me you guys are the best in the business" beats all salesmanship in the world.

If you keep a solid reputation over the years, you will eventually have more work than you know what do with.

But it might take 10 satisfied customers to generate 1 new one, a single unhappy customer can stop 10 from calling you.

It's nice that this thread was left up as I linked to it on another forum where the owner of this company popped in and was trying to sell him a trans and touting about his warranty. Needless to say after people read this he left the thread. It's one thing to say you have a great warranty and service, it's another when you don't back it up. Even if it's only one time, you have to stand behind all of them equally.

The person that got fleeced on this deal should, by all rights, have a pretty solid case against this yahoo. The warranty plainly states "3 year/100,000 mile.". Unless, of course, there is some fine print that will void it like another "hi-end" company we all know does with their warranties.
