I'm going to bump this thread as I'm contemplating letting my 1058 go I have the Danville 3794 charger (65mm billet ) and I think the 1058 is way too loose for my setup (marks tuning as well ) looking into the goerend ml 1800 stall would love some more opinions.

Look at the ml-R by gorend...

Andrew , I figure $750 to restall vs selling mine for say 700-800 and getting a brand new goerend billet stator for 1100 that would be the most economical.
Ncsmokinlmm- that one is very close to the stall of the 1058 do you have any experience with it as far as coupling goes?

EDIT : my source was wrong on the price of the Goerend converter. So with that said I'll keep the 1058, I don't know if I'm looking for so much as a stall change as I am coupling different. What kind of options are there for me andrew?

I will be installing a Goerend R this coming week. Supposedly around a 2200 stall a little loose for how I use my truck but it is supposed to couple great once it does. I looked at most all the converters out there and talked with a lot of knowledgeable people before arriving at this choice.
I to tow heavy from time to time I'll be running a 3794 and later twinning over it.
I will come back and let you all know how I like it :thumb:

I am in for the 1058. It has the higher stall to race but it actually couples well at lower torque and drive great in town. It also has the better stator compared to the 1056/1057.
Thats my .02 cents

Not yet. But it's what is going on my LML shortly so I'll let you know...

However, I've talked to enough people that I trust to go this way with confidence...

56taskforce Looking forward to your input!

I am looking forward to being able to give some experienced input LOL I took all next week off work to build the trans, install a Danville BMW 3794 and DHD cast Y-bridge with intake tube. I will run it like that till I can get some good data logging to send Kory for retuning. By then I should be able to give a well informed report.

56taskforce..how's that converter? I don't understand why everyone loves the 1058 I must be missing something . I have grown to hate it. Lock up in 5th gear at 50 always barks my charger and drops a solid 500rpms (everything it's supposed to do ) but my 68 spools so quick I think my set up doesn't need the 1058. I'm only afraid of hurting track times if I switch :(

The 58 is the harshest by far on the Suncoast converters. It will annoy a lot of people. There are some tuning items that can limit the effect but will not make it go away. I like the converter but not enough to use it in my daily driver. My favorite of their converters is the 1055.

Solid yes but annoying when your accelerating normal and at 25psi boost and the charger goes "choo choo choo "when it locks. And in order to prevent that I have to feather the throttle near 50mph. Overall it's just not for me :thumb:

I understand that. I can bark my 366 if I try to. playing with the tcm tune helped a lot with the barking.

Capt Phil I've done a lot of tcm stuff and i know what you mean I can tweak it but I have to make my charger not bark opposed to make it lol. I stretched the shift speed out a little and that helped
