Ok here is what I decided to go with after talking to a bunch of guys smarter than me:
Carrillo rods
Hamilton springs
ARP main/head studs
Stock cam but keyed
Mag check the crank and key it
ATI damper and new to me flex plate
Cut and coat my old pistons
New main, thrust, and rod bearings
Line bore the mains
Tq plate hone the cylinders
Valve job/check the heads
60% over inj
Balance the entire thing
And one day when I have money again- billet input/output for the ally and a second CP3
I can’t wait to get my toy back!!!!

looks like an A+ build IMO you should be very happy with that and have a great solid motor

Yea Jmaz, Dustin, Rob, and Guy spend a bunch of time helping me figure this out, I have never tore into a diesel before (one or two gassers) so it was interesting
Anyways, here is what I have done/doing please let me know if I’m missing anything.
Fuel system-right now just the stock CP3 with LBZ regulator until I have $$ for a dual CP3. I ported the little bullet looking things behind the fuel rail fittings, stock they were only about 0.032”, I ported them out to 0.113 (the size the inlet/threaded fittings were). I also plan on doing a sump and looking at upgrading my AD II 165 to something bigger when the time comes. I have shimmed the FPRV also.
What is the best way to clean the fuel system? The injector lines were rusty down in the fitting, I plan on cleaning them really well with brake cleaner (it was so bad rust dropped down to the clean surface of the line) then flushing the crap out of them with diesel. I’m planning on hooking the lines up loosely to the rail off at an angle with bottles, hooking my AD up to the input lines and running a couple gal of clean fuel though them before I hook it up to the CP3 and injectors.
For air I have Scotts triple 300s so I decided to not port the heads, I have run out of time and $$. Same thing with staying with the stock cam. I do have the banks IC and a 3” Ybridge
I put a new water pump on it with the welded gear, my old one looked ok so I’ll just wait and see on that…
I went with Hamilton springs, but leaving everything else stock up top
I put a new drivers side manifold on it (again $$) but wrapped everything up to the pedestal with header wrap. I got bored one night so I did a little porting/polishing of the HTT pedestal.
Putting the ATI damper on it and figured with the balance it should be good to go, and a new flex plate for the back.
I’m leaving the mains lose per what I was told, and keeping the stock oil pump. I’m a little nervous about the stock oil pump with lose mains and 3 oil cooled turbos- eventually (before summer) I’ll get some sort of oil cooler on it, with the stock bottom end I would hold 30ish at idle and 60 at 2K rpm.

So what am I missing here? I know I also need to do a billet input/output shaft for the ally. I also have Mike L’s cooler up front for the trans. I have a PPE center link with sleeves and going to better tie rods
Thanks for the info in advance!

And the goal of this truck is to just waste money, or so it seems..... It’s a toy that will tow every now and then but I know I will have to watch it when I do. I want to be able to drive it around on non-snow days, and basically make a big truck go faster than it should. I know most guys with this much power are pulling/racing and my tires and the fact that it’s a CCLB makes no sense, but I want to be different.
One day when I want to go fast I’ll pull the engine out and put it in a tahoe

Why not new Pistons? Cost cutting? Just wondering if that'll bite you in the a$$ later.

I have no reason to believe my old pistons were hurt. I might have issues with the coating sticking but I'm sending them off to a guy that really knows what he is doing, and I'm not running that hot anyways.

"you assumed his truck would smoke" knowing it has triple s300 turbos and still running a single stock cp3 pump?:spit::happy2::spit:

Yea, personally I doubt it though I saw him post smoke or something. But are you saying he should pony up for dual CP3s? It DOES seem like he's spending on some parts and cutting important corners IMHO

Triples= lotsa air, more air needs more fuel to smoke. I thinks he's sayin it won't get enough fuel to smoke, either that or he's calling the OP CHEAP, for not getting a modded or dual CP3s I agree it again seems cheapish.....

I pissed some trolls off by calling them out so now its a troll thread....

Personally like builds. I see what you said on pistons, I'm curious on pump now. Or are you not tuning much power, just putting on trips to have trips.

Adeso. I wasn't trying to "Offend" with wondering about $$ spent vs. saved, I am, as my sig states, gonna build up next, so why you did what is of interest to me. I don't see anything bad posted up beyond a question of IF it will smoke.

(I thought YOU stated something about smoke, see it wasn't you, my bad.) We cool?

Thanks. I'll be sure to get my mains line honed.
The shop I took it to didn't charge that much for it, so one of those little things that just seems like it’s worth it.
For you guys running the mains loose (3 1/2thousands) what are you seeing in oil pressure drop?
