The shop I took it to didn't charge that much for it, so one of those little things that just seems like it’s worth it.
For you guys running the mains loose (3 1/2thousands) what are you seeing in oil pressure drop?

What bearing are you going to run? Clevite?

So how do cut LB7 compare to LBZ pistons. I hear the LBZ is the better engine but I hear the pistons aren't so.....

Bud, you just answered your own question... There is a ton of info on this site about the pistons. Take a little time use the search button. No disrespect intended.

Adeso,
Your build is very close to what I helped Righteyeblind do last summer. His truck ran a 11.75 out of the gate (one week of run time before going to the track). We have hopes of getting in the 10's this summer with better injectors & dual fuelers & a trans. refresh.

I think your build is very typical of what the average guy will do, that isn't going for a all out competition only rig. Good job.

So I talked to the shop, and I guess my engine was moments away (well more like one or two hard runs) from a violent death... He said when he pulled the cam gear off the pin was bent over and about to shear.... stock engine just the turbo kit on it, it was over revved a little bit but not that much.

Ok so I’m going to be kind of pressed for time when I go to put it back together b/c I’m getting close to my PCS date. I'm having the shop putting the rotating assembly together but I will be doing the rest, what are the big hang-ups I should watch for? I'm not an idiot when it comes to this, but it is my first dmax build
Thanks in advance, you guys have been great with the help!
I have been reading around and haven't seen any big ones but I'm sure there are

Here is my final answer what I went with...
Carrillo rods
Hamilton springs
ARP main/head studs
Stock cam but keyed
Mag check the crank and key it
ATI damper and new to me flex plate
Cut and coat my old pistons
New main, thrust, and rod bearings
Line bore the mains
Tq plate hone the cylinders
Valve job/check the heads
60% over inj
Balance the entire thing
Bearing clearance ended up being 0.0032 so about where I wanted it
While I was in there did a water pump too

I wanted to, but I'm in a bind for time. It's either get it running this week she sits for 4-5 months till I can take time off from work and make the 14 hr drive, and the coater put me in front of some other jobs so it all goes back to my truck picked the worse time to go down

It came with a small card in the box that stated the torque spec with the ARP lube. I don't want to say a torque value because I am not sure. Call Guy, he could tell you if you don't have the ARP paperwork.
