Broken Crankshaft Count?

What needs to be changed and/or machined to accommodate a LML crank in a early model block? (If anything).. I'm Sure it has been discussed somewhere at some time on here but I can't recall.

I didn't have to change anything to make the lml crank work with lbz parts. My builder did use an lml dampner instead of the stock lbz as it is 60 grams lighter.

Percentage as in all dmax built vs those that have broken? Or which models have broken in comparison to each other? There is a poll in this thread that gives you a bit of an indication to the latter.

Not sure everyone that posted they broke in this thread did the poll though.

I mean all total produced since 2001. We talking 1 out of every 10,000 trucks that suffer this fate? 1 out of 50k? It's a freak thing to happen but it'll always be in the back of my mind.

Ya that's a near impossible number to calculate as how many never went through the dealer and got fixed or just parted out?
Maybe it is a crapshoot I dunno. All I know is I hope I took the necessary steps to prevent it from happening to me again.

I'm sure it's been asked here somewhere, but what if a man put an ATI damper on a bone stock LMM, would it lessen the chances or would I just be pissing money away?

Many may argue with me but unless you're turning rpm's near or above 4000 rpm I feel it's not needed. At lower rpm's stocker seems to do it's job just fine. Not a bad idea to key it though.

I like rpm's, rev limiter is at 42-4600 depending on the trucks mood ( have no idea what that's about, it's supposed to be 4200) and it sees 37-3800 a fair amount.

I had the jasper sales guy come int the shop a couple months back and said he sells a lot of the lbz engine for broken cranks just my 2 cents idk if these are mostly modded trucks or factory just what the guy told me
