These numbers are for LB7 Federal Heads Stock.
These numbers are what just about all of the stock Dmax heads flow. LB7-LML. The port shapes and sizes are all basically the same.
The only exception is the LB7 EGR head. The intake ports on the EGR head flow substantially less. If I recall correctly about 40 cfm less. The exhaust ports are the same as federal heads.
So here they are. Let the marketing and advertising of flow numbers begin.
I love Guys stuff and use his heads on my truck. Im not in any way saying the Brodix are better then anyones but they are bad a$$
One of the best mods i know about these Brodix heads is they are cupless for the LB7 which i like. Jeremy shared a bunch more info that makes these heads look serious and promising but ill let him post up about the heads. There is a ton more mods to the heads and they are far from a ported stock head. From what i was told i think the $6500 is worth it.
X2, Guy's heads are all that I have sold my customers with great success over the years! I have been fortunate to be the test dummy for these new Brodix heads and helping Jeremy with the design and porting and fitment and I must say it has been a long road to get to this point. I installed the first set on my truck back in March. I am getting tired of swapping heads on my truck, but all the testing has been worth it. The test data is eye opening and has really changed the statis quo in my eyes. You guys are right, they are expensive and honestly they are not for everyone. The top 10-15% will buy these without batting an eye because they are more than worth it in quality alone and the performance increase is just icing on the cake. Look at my truck for example, with these heads I ran 10.96 in the 1/4 with a vgt and a single pump and did it while running 1400egt's at 45psiboost and 65drive. Put twins on and picked up 190hp 60psi boost 85drive. On the sled pulling side of things these heads have allowed us to run much larger chargers than before without issue and we have picked up a solid 600-1000rpms with them. Cams act different with them. The flow numbers I have show the stock heads at 183cfm intake and SoCal stg2 in the 230cfm and the Bromax Stg2 heads on my truck are in the 290cfm range. The big difference is how much airflow is increased at a lower lift of the cam vs a stock/ported head. They will only get better with time. They will hopefully be ready to bring to the market very soon!
Who says what after market heads "SHOULD BE" A guy can make a decent buck and not gouge people. How is it you can get a set of BBC after market rods for 4 to 600 but someone makes them for the diesel market and they are 2600?And yes in the beginning prices are a bit higher to pay for production and development but man 6500 limits you to the top 1/2 %of the diesel world......the top pro racers. This is only my oppinon, I still can't wait to see what these will do but as much as I would love a set I will never have them.
Didn't Rob and Llamar flow your heads Shane?
I think they should have shitcanned the glowplug and figured out how to put in a second injector ...
EXACTLY!!!
My good friends Supra makes 1400hp and it runs on 6 injectors up to xx amount of boost then the second set of 6 injectors kicks in for a total of 12 injectors. I thought of this for the Dmax and it would be very very smart but could EFI live support the tuning that would be needed? Im sure it could be figured out but its all just $$$$$
How hard would it to do a set of IDI injectors in the intake runner like in a Gas EFI lives setup.EXACTLY!!!
