It'll be hard to hold the torque, granted there's a big aftermarket world for them the technology might be there
I know they will handle 700-800 in torque, but the diesel makes it down so much lower. 1000-1200 in torque may make it shit its pants and give up the ghost. Maybe I need to find a company that to test there transmission.

Have you thought about a 4l80? I think they have a paddle style shifter for them which could be handy for what your looking to do. Hell maybe an Allison with a tapshifter have paddles integrated into it would be sweet. Ben would be the man I question that about though

What ever I get probably will have fully manual valve body, I have a Turbo 350 and 400, but have been looking at getting a 4L80 or 85, 4R100, and 47RH and now am thinking about a T56. I am just thinking it will save a lot of trouble with coverters and wiring stuff like that if I can switch to a clutch.

Why rule out the zf6? It will hold anything you'll need. I know I can shift mine relatively quick I just don't know about the abuse it would see on a track

Is this incorrect Andrew?
Hmm no one thinks a 47RH would be a good choice from a 94-95 cummins? I had a nice built one with also reds and a suncoast converter and it never skipped a beat behind my cummins. They shift hydraulically on their own 1-2-3 then I just had a switch i flipped for OD and lockup. And the Rh's dont need billet outputs at that hp level because they have a larger output as compared to an RE from newer years. A buddy of mine had a manual valve body in his and it was awesome as well.

I've been daily driving my LBZ with a Duraflite in it now for about 4 months.. I will never look back, shift quality is much better, it does what its told, all the Suncoast parts fit and worked flawless. The only down fall is cruising rpm at 75-80 but I will fix that with some 3.42's. I do even still do some towing with it around the farm.. :thumb:

Well I had a wild and maybe a dumb idea of maybe using a T56. Anyone know how that would hold up? Stock engine, injectors. Would the torque blow it to bits and would a gas clutch work on a dmax flywheel? The reason I am concerning this is that I want to autocross my C10 when I am done with it and not sure how our transmissions will take up and down shifting like that.

Im planning on I've talk to Dav at valair clutch to make a few to handle the common 11/12" BBC clutch bolt patterns.. Talking 1000 just for the flywheel.. T56 Magnum is better all around unit than the. Std t56.. I have a viper t56 in my 79 malibu.. Definitely planning on doing a repower on it... Just don't know when :(

Yes, you want to use the gas motor trans case. It's a lot stronger because the bellhousing goes all the way around.

I have found a built, no billet shafts, 4r100 by bus, but is off a 2001 7.3, is that a big draw back or not as big of a concern? As I said I am "not planning" in getting crazy with the go fast parts, and this fits by budget.

why 47 rh?

Just seeing andrews response,

I like RH's over RE's because the RHs have larger output shafts. I always was under the impression a factory RH output shaft is a strong as a billet output on a RE. maybe I'm wrong.....but i left my dodge at some pretty high PSI in 4wd and never broke an output.

Just my opinion. To each their own
