I dont see the point in the brake cleaner.....just wait and dont hotlap it all day, that to me is the obvious fix
That's my setup, and mike is correct. BUT I cut a hole about 1/2 smaller then the cooler on the front that the cooler goes over and fans blow through. I've never seen trans get above 180 and last week it was almost 100 here.
Ok so you're drawing air from in the bed & blowing through the cooler toward a hole in the front of the bed. Did I understand that right?
Yes sir. Even with the stack there now it hasn't gotten above 180
The reason I want this setup is mainly so I can have a fan on my trans cooler so I can get air flowing through at the pits when hot lapping. Ever since this s475 my trans is much much hotter (200*+). I thought the mishimoto coolers were good quality, I was wrong. Any other ideas out there? I'm okay running on in the stock location as well I just figured it would be better in the bed away from the cooling stack for less condensed heat.
Tomorrow we shall see how the stock cooler does with a little brake cleaner sprayed on after a pass.
Where are you guys getting these coolers? I'm planning on running 5/8 lines next year. I really like the 2 coolers in the front of the bed. Cutting those holes is weight reduction
Hello Cknight199,
Did the product fail in some way? Can you confirm how large the OEM cooler is? It sounds as if the cooler you installed is smaller than the OEM cooler, thus causing the issue. We are in process of developing and testing larger transmission coolers to help the diesel community upgrade from the stock units.
Feel free to contact me directly at [email protected]. We would be happy to assist you in finding an alternative solution.
Thanks!

The one you posted is not big enough, I have one similar and it keeps around 200. Here is mine, but Mishimoto or setrab universal 19, 25, or 30 row oil coolers would work. I am planning on removing my factory coolers and using the bigger one or two of sebtrab or mishimoto cooler.I don't run mishimoto coolers, but Mike L didn't seem to approve of them and that's enough for me to stay away
I an looking at running one of these verse two, just not sure if it wouldn't be better to run two.

Those are only rated to 120psi. I would suggest something that can take the pressure.
