That has to be the fastest banishment and reinstatement ever.

I think that is a testament to Mike's reputation. People will start overthrowing the government for MikeL :mikelsheep: Congrats.

Very interesting.

Perhaps the new owners might be better. That they over-rode Nick is amazing, and that has GOT to sting a bit. When you are used to making all the rules and having the final word every time, getting over-ridden can be crushing.

Now if they give Cole a 3 day vacation for jumping into another vendor's product thread and slamming, it would level the table a bit.

For those who don't know, a few of us: me, Cole, Guy, Tony were kicked off the board and a special area was created so we could discuss the fighting. We were not allowed back on the board unless we agreed we would not post negative comments about each other's products. Everyone agreed, but only Cole was allowed to continue that behavior.

The agreed punishment for continuing slamming each other's products was permanent ban.

To be pragmatic about this, TDP is still the largest audience for Dmax owners on the internet.

For anyone who's livelihood relies on Duramax customers, it's wise to be there.

However, at what cost? While TDP members helps sales tremendously, the shop must tolerate slurs thrown at them because there is only one "protected" sponsor. Certainly it hurts some sales. For the long term, it would be best if the situation was different, but it won't change from within TDP as long as the Pro-TTS admins remain. Since there is no expectation of that occuring, the only other alternative is to reach the same customer base through other means.

The customer base comes to the web to read the content. You move the content, you move the customer base. This is a "performance" board, and it's run by lunatics, so it's only suitable for a fraction of the DP customer base. But putting content on TDP works against the long-term interests of the vendors there, it ideally should be placed at other sites where the vendors are not harrassed. Wherever you put content, folk will follow.

I encourage all the readers here to post content at diesel sites, be it here or others. We have a list of sites somewhere in Smoke Signals. But for the long term health of the Dmax vendors, I suggest they avoid putting content on TDP unless there is change in the situation there. And I don't mean another speech by Nick D'amico that he has never done anything to support TTS or downplay the other vendors. Or another speech that he is changing the board policy. You can only use that one about 50 times before it wears out, and he's running at about 100 now.

Sure the Slick 50, Hyundai, and Tampon vendors will remain. But those who are actively seeking to buy Duramax parts and services will shop wherever they can get the most intelligent information concerning their purchases.

I have been a member here since the fallout early this year, and although I have not posted on this board, I do follow it from time to time.

I have been following this and all the other recent "banning" threads very closely, and this latest bit with MikeL is about the last straw. I'm about done with those guys

Pat, I just gotta say that especially after reading this thread, you and the guys on this board are a class act, and the above post I quoted here is about the most well written and concise reaction I have seen to the mess that is TDP. Nice job...

Good or bad, I'll be here a lot more often

Looks like this site just got another member since the banhammer came down, ME! If anything, it'll be nice to not have to see the same damn banner on every page... I tried posting in one of trentnell's post this morning and it was already deleted before I even hit post reply.

And that private forum made for some classic reading, Pat. :D

Yeah, that pissed me off. :D

I immediately agreed to the terms, but they wouldn't let me back unless Cole did too. He tried several times to weasel word an acceptance:

"Will you say you're sorry for running over my dog while you were driving on my lawn?"

"It is unfortunate that your dog died of natural causes. I will send flowers."

I stayed off of there for awhile when the news hit. Lately i've been going there and even posting again. I can tell it seems like a bunch of tool bags just BS'n. If you post something with revalence to a question, it's like nobody even see's it. No comment, thanks, hey what about this......

I remeber back when the whole thing went down and someone said that the tech stuff would be gone, I wish I had printed all that stuff out.

it's ****en ghey, i'm done AGAIN!!!!!

I might even post more here.

I had a long conversation with Stew and believe that he wants to do the right thing for TDP. He impressed me as being sincere. I will not go into our conversation at this time but I was not blamed whatsoever for the incident. There are changes coming over there.:D

Content is what makes a site. Even asking questions helps a bunch.

I get many questions a day through Private Messaging because members aren't always comfortable asking questions publically. Don't sweat. We don't look down our noses at folk because they don't know everything. We are ALL learning here, and that's what an enthusiast forum is all about.

It used to be a great site. That's why I came here and to DTR, I'm tired of the drama and having the feeling of being watched. You basically have to walk on pins and needles or you will get points or banned. Oh well, life goes on.

I have one already. Its called the Refugee Camp...It seems to be very popular so far but like anything that happens on DP, it goes in spurts...

I really dont even care to go back to DP much anymore. I really dont care enough to read all the useless griping sessions either. Its done and over with and only going down hill. I dont see what the point of sitting there crying about it is gonna do. Most of us have moved on now anyways.

The problem with Stu over there is that he's 1 guy in charge of like 30 forums. Pretty sucky job if you ask me. So much for 24 hour support.

Johnny's over there working it!:hail2:

I couldn't help it when he said the old team and imagine Me Tony and Hoot as moderators! At least Tony wouldn't be a TTS cheerleader, Hoot would spend all day trying to get a Dodge forum and I would have to do all the work being a REAL moderator!
