guys, they dont give a rats ass about tech. when will all of you get it. they have the google ads, and they have a ton of 10 post junkies looking to by the latest in plug in power. in some way it makes me laugh at all the bad advice that people are getting now. i prided myself on helping people there and did a lot to help people there. never again. i left that place in the dust. i still log in every now and then like today just read the thread about this topic, but that is all. greed has won out once again.

To be pragmatic about this, TDP is still the largest audience for Dmax owners on the internet.

For anyone who's livelihood relies on Duramax customers, it's wise to be there.

However, at what cost? While TDP members helps sales tremendously, the shop must tolerate slurs thrown at them because there is only one "protected" sponsor. Certainly it hurts some sales. For the long term, it would be best if the situation was different, but it won't change from within TDP as long as the Pro-TTS admins remain. Since there is no expectation of that occuring, the only other alternative is to reach the same customer base through other means.

The customer base comes to the web to read the content. You move the content, you move the customer base. This is a "performance" board, and it's run by lunatics, so it's only suitable for a fraction of the DP customer base. But putting content on TDP works against the long-term interests of the vendors there, it ideally should be placed at other sites where the vendors are not harrassed. Wherever you put content, folk will follow.

I encourage all the readers here to post content at diesel sites, be it here or others. We have a list of sites somewhere in Smoke Signals. But for the long term health of the Dmax vendors, I suggest they avoid putting content on TDP unless there is change in the situation there. And I don't mean another speech by Nick D'amico that he has never done anything to support TTS or downplay the other vendors. Or another speech that he is changing the board policy. You can only use that one about 50 times before it wears out, and he's running at about 100 now.

Sure the Slick 50, Hyundai, and Tampon vendors will remain. But those who are actively seeking to buy Duramax parts and services will shop wherever they can get the most intelligent information concerning their purchases.

Exactly. I have many friends on that site, and have even met over 100 of them in person. The Diesel Place community is great. The admins suck donkey balls.

There are only a few folk that wrecked that board. Nick, Chad, and Cole. But they are the ones who control who can post what, so they have more effect than 30,000 members do.

I absolutely agree, Pat. And to your later point, my technical posts stopped there when I turned in my Moderator key.

Yeah, it's funny when someone (Nick) who posts little to no "real" tech content bans someone who does (Mike L) for what is posted in a technical thread.

How backwards is that?

ya there is 3/5 still left and the nasty grams from mods after already slaughtered my inbox but to my surpize only warnings no points yet :D , i got mocked for doing 5 threads but there was a reason behind it exposure the areas i posted have the most traffic and the amount of veiws and then to see threads deleted still counts and actually validates all points made, if they were smart the less they did would be smarter act like they had nothing to hide . so i am glad they deleted them it meens the threads scared them

Sorry Mike. You have been an invaluable resource on TDP. I know you will be missed. On a side note I have not been on as regularly since it seems the site is going downhill anyway.
