Anyone running 35's

I need to buy tires for my truck and was wanting some input on what size to go with. I have 17 x 10" rims that had 33x12.50 pro comps on them and they just look to damn short. So I was wanting to go with something taller. Will 35's fit on a non lifted truck? I do have the T bars cranked up. I had no prob with the 33's. I was looking at BFG Km2's, but didn't know wheather to go with 315's or 35's. I know there basically the same height, but just didn't know what would look better. Thanks!!

Just be careful with the big tires and turning. Mine is lifted 6 inches, and cranked too, and with 35 tires, I still rub when turning especially when I hit bumps going slow. Not bad rub though.

There the same height as my current 285's I have on factory wheels. Not sure what to do, or which tire would look best. At over $250 a tire, I want to make the right choice.

Remember that the number on the tire, 285, only refers to the width of it. Just an FYI, thought you should know man.

True. I still don't fully understand all that. 285 width, 75 is the distance in centimeters from the top of the rim to the top of tire??

I do know that a 285/75 is like 32.? inches tall.

Its cake man. All it means is the tire's side wall height is 75% of the tire's width.

Yours rubs because the fabtech lifts increase the front track width and make it rub more. My cousin had a fabtech 8" that rubbed with the same wheels and tires as my dad's truck with 6" RCD and no rubbing.

BTW my front sit ~ 1.5"lower then my budys 4x4 with t-bars crank on 245s

I run 315/70/17 BFG AT's on dodge rims and they rub....not only that but from rotation number 1 my MPG's became crap. I am going back down next round

Sweet,Thanks all!!! So I guess 35's will work as long as you have a positive offset. I'm ASSuming positive offset means the wheels are offset towards the outside of the fender well??

If so, should I go with 315's or 35x12.50's?
Also, I was looking at the new BFG KM2, which are pricey, but have read really good things about them as far as tire wear, and the easibility to balance. Any input?

Actually the offset is opposite...
+offset sets the wheel inside the fender farther, - offset sets the wheel outside the fender farther.
Offset reffers to the amount the center part of the wheel (hub mounting surface) is offset to the exact center of the rim. + is the distance towards the outside of the rim and - is the distance towards the inside, 0 would be exact center.

As far as tire height...ex. 285/70/17
Take the width 285mm x .70(sidewall is 70% of the width of 285mm) = 199.5mm...convert to inches(1mm=.0393701")..199.5mm x .0393701 = 7.85"...7.85"x 2 = 15.71"...15.71" (of sidewall) + 17" (rim height) = 32.70" tall tire.

I used to have a set of 325/65R20's BFG KM2's...

I liked the tires, they didn't make too much noise, got decent traction and whatever. I wasnt impressed with the mileage though. I think I only got about 50 thousand km out of them. A set of toyo MT's or even the Cooper Discoverer STT's I have now go a lot longer for only about 100 bucks more a tire.

The 325/65R20's measure out to about 13 inch wide and 36 inch tall. Nice lookin tires on my truck... I'll see if I can get a pic... But they would rub when I hit big jumps, and that was with a 6" procomp lift, although my tbars are sitting stock height, and even low for stock.

Every truck seems to have slightly different clearances etc.

And for what its worth, I paid 425 a piece for the BFG's. I paid 475 a piece for the Coopers. And the Toyo's are about 500-520 a piece. And that is 35X12.50R20 size. Canadian Dollars.

I will be putting on some Mickey Thompson ATZ's 36X13.50's next time around. Just for the summer though because they are a junk tire, they just look nice. I'll keep whats left of my coopers for the winter haha.

285/75/16...show your work

285mm x .75 = 213.75mm

213.75mm x .0393701" = 8.415"

8.415" x 2 = 16.83"

16.83" + 16" = 32.83" tall tire

Tire width would be...285mm x .0393701" = 11.22"
