Here's a brochure on the high efficiency filter like the 1R0751 we are using. Catches 98% of particles 2 micron and larger. (2 micron absolute)

The nominal rating will be 50% if i'm not mistake. So you are filtering down A LOT better than stock. :thumb:

Bottom right of the PDF last page 2001,then right click it and check the document properties. Micron rating test have changed since...

The one posted earlier is 2013

Donaldson, Parker/Racor, AcDelco all claim 4 micron although the Donaldson claims 99% efficiency at 4 microns, have to question that one based on the date of the PDF bottom right May 2009. I do not recall ever reading about a 2 micron OEM or replacement filter even in some of the old archived sites...

If I remember right it was when the LLY came out that they changed the fuel filter. I was sure it was 2 micron. But the more I think about it maybe it was 2 micron nominal and 4 micron absolute......

My buddy at GM is going to see if he can find out tomorrow.

Well post up your info on what you think is better... I shared what you asked for.

After my two Parker filters are used more than likely switch to a company that only builds filters, Donaldson. Where as Cat has theirs built by Baldwin and built in Nebraska, at least some of them and as with all companies contracting to overseas.

May just switch to these but have not found any literature regarding effectiveness if you install a lift pump before them.

These work well under suction or pressure for water removal and work with the Nictane adapter and would be my first choice.

I prefer the Donaldson 553203 when used with an adapter on the stock filter head. It is a 3 micron absolute AND a very efficient water separator. Win win in my book. The Cat fuel filters don't do anything about water which is just as bad if not worse than not being a low micron filter.

Donaldson P553207 is almost 9" long as opposed to the P553203 being 71/2" long, same filter. Probably not a good idea for the longer filter being so close the exhaust manifold..

I recently tried putting the cat filter on my airdog 100. It spun two turns and basically slid on the rest of the way.
Any ideas?
