Just so you guys know.
My brothers little boy(5 yrs old) was airlifted to St Louis today.
He was with his great grandma on my brothers ex wifes side.
Basically the story is they were driving about a 15 mile one way trip. When they got to the destination he was not breathing and no pulse.
He had somehow rolled his head/neck up in the rear window and sufficated himself.
The destination had 2 people trained in CPR, and started almost immediately, then first responders showed up. As of now, it is believed that 13 minutes of chest compressions were performed before he started he breathing and a heartbeat. So it can be assumed that 15-17 minutes of non breathing happened.....I'm trained from the military in some of these, and anything over 2-3 minutes is brain damage territory.
So they flew him to St Louis which is 3+ hours away.
He is breathing on his own, but there is no response to stimulus, whether it be light or pain. He is just a motionless little guy.
He has a sort of twitch, they are testing as i type this to determine if it is seizures or not.
Things are not looking good for my little buddy.
My brother doesn't make alot of money, works in a factory, is a combat vet, and is a single dad. And add the gas he has to spend, the childrens hospital is giving a very good price on a room....But it still adds up.
I started a paypal for him, which is similar to mine so I could remember the name of it. I just created it when I got home, so I hope it works. It is linked straight to his checking account, and not mine.
I did this completely on my own, he actually has no knowledge of this.
I'm not asking people to donate, but I am at the same time. I love my brother and his little boy to death and I know this isn't going to be an easy trip for either one of them, or for me for that matter.
I don't want people to even tell me they donate or don't....a simple bump of this thread is enough.
His paypal is [email protected]
Its been a hell of a day for sure, its been a hell of year for us.
I will continue to update this as things change or don't change, but its not looking good.
