Positive thoughts sent your way... That is great that they started CPR so soon, irreversible brain damage occurs after 6-10 minutes. He was getting some oxygenated blood way sooner than that which could be the difference of a full recovery to permanent brain damage.

Prayers and a little something sent. Been in this spot before and I know how much it helps when people give no matter the amount....

I spoke a bit too soon. Just got an update.

The seizures he was having have slowed down and his blood pressure has started to even out.

He has a slight bit of swelling on his brain right now, so they won't really be able to tell the extent of the damage until that goes down.

Does he have an infection? Rapid onset of a fever can cause febrile seizures?

They enrolled him into a study to super cool him, but he wasn't selected. They have his temp controlled at 36 degrees C.

As far as I am aware, he does not have any infections.

I'll more than likely be heading back down there this weekend. So should find out more details then.

Very sad to hear this. I can't imagine how it feels to be in your position. Your brother must be beside himself. I'll be praying for Gabe, your brother, and the rest of your family.
