Napa hit me for over $80 for the last one, carquest was $55 iirc. I know they offerred that engine at 450hp for marine use, but I believe they kept the rpm's down low on them.

Been hunting for a double over drive 13sp. Since I have none for core I'll have to eat that as well.. seams going price for Reman 13sp is ~4000.00 pluses 2500 core
Low mileage used seams to be 2-3000 with 1-1500 core
Trans I'm looking for that share these ratios r

Need to pull axle shaft to find out spline count so I can get the gear set made with 3.07:1 gears
245/70/19.5(33") 3.07 gears and said gear ratio gives me cruising RPM @70 of 1500-2100 for top three gears.. plus be able to cruise 75-80 easily out west

Pull casting numbers off the hubs might be able to swap from 8-275 hub pilot to 10-275 hub pilot.
Truck came with 4 new 11r22.5 straight tread tires.. and two junk 255/70/22.5. kept the old double coin drives 225/70/19.5 I pulled off the LMM last winter..
Once I get the transmission bought I'll start tearing things apart..

Good Dale's is almost matching Vander haags price of $5250, with $5500 including yoke, a #2 bell housing ,forward control shift plate and shift tower..

Call frieghtliner run VIN, truck should have a 1710 or 5-675x half round..

So verify
Pull u-joint on diff... Cleaned yoke ears of grease etc
Measurements
Cap...1.938"
Cross 6.1875-6.2187 or 3/16-7/32"
...****...
1760 is 1.938/7"

Woohoo for little surprises!!!!

Gues I need to see what I can get for pinion yoke for this RS145-120

So now convert everything to down to 1710 or up to 1760..based on what yoke I can get... either way drive shaft got alot more expensive

Might need new lift after this... It's not happy, was talking pretty good when I lifted it up figured it's 2-2500lbs easy
. When together it weighed 3500lb with 2 11/22.5 steels on .. slip frame goes to about 6" forward of the rear fuel tank strap..

Links are via FB and seams after X period of time they stop working for whatever reason.. IDK..

The LMM hasn't been "drama free" there's a 65-70 page thread on it.. it's currently got 444ish on it

Down to dropping the fuel tanks and pulling bolts out of the crossmember and slip frame comes off..

Made progress.. bolts are in the main/min required stuff suspension related stuff.. question is what to do with all the other holes.. how does one fill them.. lab metal?
http://www.alvinproducts.com/Product-Line/aT/View/ProductID/3/Lab-metal

Welding? Welding heat treated metal is an issue..
Might be calling frieghtliner and seeing what a set of rails would cost, at least it would give me an idea of cost...

Also up in the air is whether to extend to 162" basically I'd move everything back 12". OEM is 150" 12" with be moving the crossmember that the impact is laying and bolting the front bolts in the rear bolts..

Need to get a needle gun to get some of this scale crap off.. then clean primer/paint frame rails

TX of course
We weld up frames all the time. I'm not saying it's right, but the big truck repair center we use does it to.

I know they make several different grades on "high strength" heat treated steels. With the frames being 10+ years old, I would be a bit cautious to weld on them as some of the older ones required special procedures followed by stress relieving. You would need to know what the material is and what strength it has to pick the correct filler material.

I know shops weld on them, but welding can be a crack waiting for a place to start. If you look at most of the frames even the multi channel ones, the big stress items are riveted or bolted on to them. Rivets and bolts allow for minor flex that would result in fatigue failures for welds.
