Yep, plan on pulling the pump/injectors having Columbus diesel go through them and balance everything out..
Been told delivery valves and fuel plate 3000 GSK kit, and I'm good for ~450hp in fuel

You should check with Ferrell Diesel. He's pretty good with those P pumps.

Does it have an hx40 now? I would think it'll lug down further with all those cubes pushing air. Is that sxe waste gated? Maybe just do compounds

Should, it's definitely internally gated Turbo
I've read 8.3 stock used t4 foot vs t3 the 5.9 did..
I've read you get them with internal gated housing.... But those are $$$

What point do the HB lift?
Not to discredit that guy, but I think Columbus Diesel knows a thing or two about a p7100 :D

Plus Columbus diesel is ~1 hour from my house

Of course they do, but it'll come at a premium compared to the smaller shops like Ferrell. I assume that's where Josh was going with that recommendation.

Called Columbus diesel, basic functions test, balance install fuel plate, GSK on the pump and test injectors low side ~800. For upgrades and testing
Highside ~2000.00+ for full rebuild.
Truck has 234k on it
Started fairly easy this morning

I assume you meant HG? I haven't pushed one that far, and they aren't known for gasket issues. They'll do 35ish psi on a healthy tune up, stock turbo.

Plan is to strip the engine forward and dashboard out and put it into the FL60

How will that work with emissions being your 99 is obd2? Doesn't the dot check those things during inspections? Would hate to see you spend all the time and money to get it in and runni,g, and the dot red flag you for it. Would be nice to find an 8.3l out of a motorhomewith the allison with a retarder on the end of it. The retarders just flat out work great for braking.

There is no emissions, abs, etc on either truck.
Dot doesn't care

The nose Electronic thing on the 99 FL60 was cruise control on the 3126 cat that was in it

Pump plate info.. no clue how to read that.. 160/180/215????l
17309684_10211235222609939_2026835072341330734_n.jpg

Engine serial number is 44843226
Component part # s01-22436-000
275HP@1800rpm
11° timing

Is That enough info to figure out compression ratio, injector size? In frame options?

Once batteries where charged. Engine fires extremely quickly in 25° temp. no cold weather starting aid, does have block heater.. it work? IDK... wasn't used.

Logical reasoning... quick fire in cold weather means compression is good and fuel system is good.. throttle response is rather quick too....do plan on pulling injectors and doing a compression test.. what's spec?

The adapter from front cover to air compressor is broken.
Low coolant light is on.. haven't done system pressure test yet..Will be done prior to pulling the engine..

Oil looks recently changed. Does ~70psi at idle cold. What's spec?
Should be a data plate on the turbo right?

What's cooling system capacity and oil system capacity? Be good info to have when I go to drain them.

Iirc oil capacity is 6 gallons with filter(filter holds a gallon by itself). Believe I paid about $60 for the last 8.3l oil filter I bought, but watch out for bapa as they mark it way up over $100. They start well down to around 20 degrees, then they get smokey. The factory intake heater doesn't do much for them either if it has one. I've only messed with a few of them in motorhomes, and one that was a line truck for drilling and setting power poles. They're good engines in all honesty, but don't seem to like being turned up as much power wise as the 5.9l does. All the ones I've messed with were all pretty well limited by the small turbo(hx-40 in a t3 base), and in motorhomes, the afc is set so conservative they take forever to finally take off and go.

I can most likely get filters much cheaper going through the company's account I'm leased too.. I get a Baldwin dmax oil filter for under $6.00 as an example.

I plan on sending the pump off to Columbus diesel have it gone through balance fuel plate, and adjust the AFC, along with clean check pop pressure on the injectors.

Turbo foot looks like T4 which I'm told is common on the class 7 trucks,
Supposed to in the 40°s and less than 10mph wind vs 10-20° and 20mph winds last couple days be nicer to climb around.

Sent numbers to dan@ Columbus diesel..
Pump is a 12mm ~174kW/260hp delivery valves and caps are choke point ~$1500 to install/replaced DV and caps along with a GSK for 2400-2500rpm fuel limit.
Could open up injectors but not needed. To reach 450-500 range.. have more than need fuel and cut it back is the plan..

Found the adapter from timing cover to air compressor is broken. $190 from fyda Columbus was the quote.

Ferm. Truck has a BD103 oil filter.. my cost with company discount $25.00 all has a really small fuel/water filter 33472(WIX) be swapping that out for same setup on my LMM with a BF1259/BF7587.. haven't pulled the coolant filter number yet..
Radiator is shot easy 50% of the fins on the rear side are gone,
Really want to get the engine up to temp before I pull it
