Forgot to ask, What about the oil squirter issue? You stated this block does not have them but they were on the original engine that was supposed to be in that chassis.

Can you add them to that block?

I found them after I pulled a sleeve.. there's 12 of them
kinda feel like an idiot, definitely can not see them from the bottom

I've been watching Adam's situation for a couple of years and if he would be willing to borrow the money and run a new duramax he would be 10s of thousands ahead. Just my .02. Only thing that makes money is miles.

Yea i believe you..... but still man.... you have spent months and months broke down that worth some risk. I got a friend that pulled cars cross country grossing 30k give or take some with a f350 wide front end and put 100,000 on it and only put ac compressor on it. That is it. All stock truck. He sold it then and is doing something else now but even of it cost 25k to trade would still make sense to trade.

The only time I have had to park everything and find another job, is when I have had a truck payment and a newer truck... Maybe it's the way I look at things.. I've passed a lot of newer trucks on the side of the road... Guess end of the day it's either new truck problems or old truck problems.. I can usually fix old truck problems cheaper/quicker than new truck problems.. plus I know what needs gone through before putting it on the road..
Also I have a 2nd 99 FL60 now as well it needs work as well plus a 2nd 8.3 Cummins that needs rebuilt..
Also doing everything in cash.. bank can't tell you how to run your company, because they have no strings/loans to control you with

Adam,

Have you considered buying something like a T300 for about $15k, Keeping it stock and just running it till the wheels fall off? Saw a pre '99 model on truck paper for $15K. I know you want to be cash and carry, but now miles means no income, and rental or lease is money out the door.

This one is $14.5K https://www.truckpaper.com/listings/trucks/for-sale/25298741/2001-kenworth-t300

And this one is $15K https://www.truckpaper.com/listings/trucks/for-sale/7134789/1998-kenworth-t300 location Illinois

And then this cheap one at $13k https://www.truckpaper.com/listings/trucks/for-sale/18830383/2002-kenworth-t300 in Illinois.

Cheap Freight with 50 series Detroit 275 hp and allison auto $7.5K https://www.truckpaper.com/listings/trucks/for-sale/28427575/1996-freightliner-fl106 location Ohio.

Wheels are probably close to falling off now :roflmao:

Ever tried to pull a load with a 3126 Cat? Or worked on a Detroit? Might be a reason he opted for a mechanical pump 8.3

Bought a 99 T300 with a ISC8.3/super10 for 5k sold it for 6k.. ergonomic is all off for me KW/Pete cabs my body isn't comfortable in them.. I'll suck it up for a company truck.. but not as a personal truck.. if that makes sense.
Basicy following my own advice.. get something your ass is comfortable in..

I can agree with that. I know you are not vertically challenged and several of our larger drivers at work like the sleeper trucks because there is more room to slide the seat back. Hopefully you can either find one that fits or keep the mutt running in '19. Best of luck.

If you let me know what engine you are looking for, I have a friend in the PNW that is always looking around in truck yards along with several connections he has that might be able to help find a spare engine or 2 that you can build up in the spare time for a quick swap when the time comes.

Thanks
I do have a spare 8.3 6CTA sitting on a stand that needs gone through.
Shipping usually kills decent deals especially across continent... Reman 8.3 is usually 10k range
