How are you setting timing? You have a P7100 pump, right? The cam pin hole to set TDC should be directly behind the timing pin when the motor is at TDC with the cam and cranks timing marks lined up with one another. Once that is done, you can set pump timing by measuring plunger lift and using a lift to timing chart.

Yes that's correct,
Pump is pinned, I'll back the Engine 17° before TDC and tight the pump gear.

I wanted to know what it was before I pulled it apart as my TDC was broken at the time I advance timing an additional 5° over what ever the previous person set timing at

Yeah new radiator, ect stay cooler now as well
Egts run 200° hotter while cruise.. 1600rpm seams to be the "on/off" point of the power band, not much lugability, at 1700-1800 I can hold it to the floor and it makes out around 1350, the 66/74 doesn't seam to choke out either like it did with the 62/68 turbo,
Going to bump timing to 22° today,
Gotten 7.8/8.3/9.6/9.5 mpgs to the tanks since back on the road

Edit possible cracked liner is another possibility, couple MD/HD gurus brought that up on comp D

What kind of pressure and volume do the air storage takes run at for those engines?

I used to work on a bus that had an air starter. I think it was maybe 30 gallons at 125 psi if im not mistaken. Only got two tries to start before running out of air
