Unfortuntely I have been very busy w/ work, so the truck has been on hold.
The last project was extending the wiring harness for the truck to relocate the fuse box & run all the wiring in the fender. Only about 110 wires in the dash harness...
It is rather frustrating... I see it every day, but months go by without being able to touch it.
I want to get the wiring connected & test fire it again.
This will at least renew my incentive to pick up the pace.

Just slow in the progress department.
Here is a pic of the harness.
Cut & spliced 2 harnesses together to make it longer. It is now routed through the fender to the left front corner from under the dash. Trying to hide all the wiring as much as possible. I modified the factory fuse box to fit under the hood. Now if I could find some time to work on it....

That was my original goal, but my hectic life is taking about 2 months of remaining work & stretching it out over years.
Business is good, but it sure screws up the personal life. I thought hobbies were something you enjoyed doing, but it looks like I may have to pay someone to help me if I ever want to see it finished.
Unfortunately it has been over a year since I touched it.
Too much work & not enough personal time.
I started the project as a hobby. Now I cannot get the time to work on it.
I recently bought a Ford hi-pinion D60 for it. I have to get a car built before I get back on this project. Hopefully I'll make some progress over the winter.

Wow. Was starting to think you fell off the edge of the planet. lol
Hope you get back to it as well. Miss seeing your input. It is an awesome project. One a have considered for sometime myself. Just no money and no place to do it. Best of luck to ya.:hug:

I hope to be working on it over the winter.
It bothers me to see it sit there unfinished... so muck work & money that I cannot enjoy.
I did build a few more cars in the meantime that kept me busy & involved with the automotive world.
My 91 Firebird is nearly finished with a new LS3/T56 swap. Restored it top to bottom. A quick paint job turned into disassembly of the entire car, painting under the hood, painting the entire underside, & rebuilding the suspension... plus the engine & trans swap. New Strange 60 rear arrived today & will be installed this weekend.
Once it is done, the truck is back on my schedule.
As for the harness, it was not bad doing the engine harness, but the dash swap was a pain. Looking back, I could have kept the stock dash/gauges & saved a ton of work... but it will be nice having the dual climate control & all the steering wheel controls.
1SIKDZL, Nice work on your old Chevy build as well, you need to add some pictures to your Garage. It looks very well detailed. You can't go wrong with a big block... still have a soft spot for them.

Thanks Lonnie! I still have a ways to go. It is a passion though. I will def add some more photos of it soon. I am just finishing up the wiring and then going to get started on the brakes and suspension.
I'm still here.... the truck is still not finished.
My business has me swamped & there is little time for my own projects.

I really only bumped it because I read through the entire thing again looking for something (how you attached the steering column) but looks like thats the next step?
I'm hoping to not run the new steering column but rather figure out how to shift the allison with a sq body auto column shifter. Or maybe reshape a new shift lever to mount to the oe column? IDK yet. Just one of the things on my mind lately.
And REALLY wish a mold of your bezel could be made!!! Man that thing is so nice!!!

Actually I mounted the new column with the existing mounting holes to the old dash rods/brackets. Note how they are aligned in the picture.
Using the new column allows the trans shift cable to be easily used & the detents are in the correct place. Not sure how easy the old column would be to get the detents correct.
