Unless you've been hiding in a cave since Monday, you are probably aware that Dodge released HP specs on their 2015 flagship musclecar, the Hellcat.

"Over 600HP" now means over 700HP.

No official weight has been listed by Dodge, but other sources say 44xx lbs.

It will have 2 keys. The black Kiddy Key pushes a mear 500HP, but the red key will start the most powerful American car ever made.

Available with either a stick or automagic, it will be interesting to see an actual review instead of a OMFG!!! blurb.

I have a hunch that unlike the Over 600HP, the 4400lb will be less. Dodge knows that HP/Weight ratio is what guides real world performance, and by letting competitors think it will weigh as much as a pickup, they might be caught coming up short.

The base 2014 V8 model with an automatic is 4100lb. So I bet they will release it at about 4200lb.

Price? My guess is $59,995. One source says $47k which I don't believe.

no car MFG has ever listed HP at the wheels......

Every official number that is posted by car MFG's is always SAE-certified at the crank.

$60k seems cheap??

I dont think the 700hp hellcat can be had in a manual.... I think the 700hp one is automatic only. But I could be wrong.

I've spent a good amount of time in a 2010 rt 6 speed and was never very impressed..more than double the HP would make it a lot more fun

I would much rather have a 640hp ZR1 or ZL1. Curb weight is only 3400 and 3700. I think that's more then enough to offset the almost 1,000 lb weight difference

The Titanic was 76,000hp and could only run 26mph and why was this ? Because it was heavy as hell lol !!

Ahhh yep!!! You're right. There was a website that I read that made it sound like the hellcat was automatic only.

I would have to assume that the "700hp" is not available in all gears....kinda like the new 850ft lbs Cummins. Derates hp/tq by a fair margin in some gears to protect the trans/clutch...

Actually if it's anything like what we built here on the 08 with 801 rwhp it's damn fun to drive and hasen't seen the tail lights of any camaro or mustang and we added a cage bigger wheels and lots of sound insulation so the 4200 is now closer to 4800 and it still kicks ass. Yes I know there is a lot of difference between 700 at the crank versus 801 at the wheels but even at 20% loss it's still going to be fun:thumb:

I'd guess a good running Dmax will whup it 0-60mph on the street.

The Chrysler launch control is actually pretty good, especially when you see novice drivers cutting 1.7x 60’ in 2013 Vipers. Our 4wd advantage is slowly losing ground.
