So gm will catch up to 15 ford and dodge numbers in 17? So they're still 2 years behind..... Gm is losing on all fronts imo the camaro is getting destroyed by the Mustang, corvette by the hellcat and viper. Granted the duramax is holding it's own pretty well. Just wish gm would step up and knock it out of the park like they did 5 years ago

Not really, If your just going off numbers then yes Gm is getting destroyed, but anymore HP and quarter mile times aren't everything.

I just wish they would come out with a crew cab that has as much room as a mega cab or at least a Ford. GM's crew cab is barely bigger than the other guys' extended cab.

I didnt scientifically measure....but the 2015+ GM crew cab felt no smaller than a super duty crew cab when I sat in one.

Obviously its no mega cab...but its significantly bigger than the 2001-2014 crew cabs.

That's EXACTLY what I'd like to see them do! But like I said in a earlier post, even with their lower HP/TQ numbers, they're still beating the competition in a lot of head to head testing. I just want the next gen Dmax to make the guys at Ford and Ram go "Fukc me! Where did that truck come from?!?" :D

you're gonna have to wait... earliest we'll see the new engine is 2nd quarter 2016 calendar year...at least a year away from right now.

They can continue to produce the LML engine until December 31st 2015. They can still sell LML's in 2016 , just cant produce them per new EPA regulations.

So GM will stockpile LML's, shut down production on January 1st, retool the factory january/february 2016, and then start production of the new duramax (L5P) after they're done retooling.

They wont be producing any engines for that ~2 month window while retooling, which is why they will stock pile LML's before December 31st...so supply will hold out demand for the time when they are shut down/retooling.

In my opinion that is what has been happening. That is why Ford and Ram continue to inflate their number while still being beat out in head to head testing. There is some good stiff competition within the big three and us gear head are reaping the benefitsbenefits.:woott:

The hellcat is a fat strait line only turd. Thing weighs over two tons. The C7 Z06 would eat it up on a track and so would a C7 stingray. As for the Viper I doubt GM built the C7 Z06 to compete with it... that's more ZR1 territory, I don't think GM will even make a C7 ZR1. The C7 Z06 gives the C6 ZR1 a run for its money in a straight line and destroys it on the track.

The Duramax still out-performs the Cummins and Ford in real world testing. My Dad has a 2011 LML and bought a 2014 Cummins and they both are animals but he still prefers his LML for comfort and towing. He just didn't think the extra 7k GM wanted for a new Denali was worth it. I told him to wait till the 2017 model year as well.

2017 to get back into the duramax game I'll be 30 and an old man. Are the 2015 lml's running the same cp4 as the 11-14s?

GM redesigned the cp4 in for the 14 model year. They changed the coatings on the metering valve which was the problem with the previous generation, I havent heard of a single failure with the redesign...
