I am new to this forum, I have 2006 LBZ it is completely stock. When I come to a stop once I have driven the truck about 50 miles roughly I get a bump when stopping or taking off. I have read to grease the slip yoke splines so I had that done last weekend. I also read a TSB that the ECT can cause the same issue so I replaced that with still no change. Any Ideas where to go?

I have also heard that the vss can cause this due to the fact that it feels like a late brake release in the rear. Help please!

2 piece that was all inspected and checked during the slip yoke greasing. It only happens once the trans and engine are at operating temperature.

Any worn parts can cause what you're describing. Carrier bearing worn out, worn/broke pinion bearing, bad u joints, worn out bushings, etc. As to why it only happens after trucks warmed up/driven a few miles, I don't know. Unless it's something in the trans/t case, I can't see mileage or vehicle temp having any effect on suspension components.

Might need to drive it till it begins making noise, then get it on a lift right away and see if it repeats.

I am beginning to think its a low pressure situation in the trans pump or a bad torque converter. We will see. I took it in the shop this morning. Sad part is I jist bought the truck from a reputable lot here locally. So its on their nickel. I told them I do not want the truck back tell its fixed.

I read that there is a "special" grease for the slip yolk. Might look into the grease you used. Mine did it for a while after I replaced the carrier and greased the yolk. I think the grease was too thick and could not "flow" fast enough to not thud when the drive shaft needed to compress.

Does your truck have a carrier bearing.?

ACDelco Nickel grease or a nickel plated slip yoke.

I already had the yoke greased who is a tech for GM. He used the special grease.
