Yall leave the tow rig out of this. That windowed block is just weight reduction, it still starts and runs... just rattles and bangs like Luke's converter bolts.

A new thread and list from scratch gets my vote. Would help folks maintain an interest in making the list rather than being discouraged by ET slips that are unachievable for most even after all these years.

I know on the Powerstroke side they have the "Elite Powerstroke's" website, is that something we're interested in doing? It's 1/8mi, 1/4mi, and dyno. For some reason they broke out into a 1/4mi fuel only and 1/4mi overall but that seems like semantics at that point.



I have no problem helping run anything, if the minds decide they need some help I'm all game. If the minds decide its a waste of time that's fine as well, just wanted to offer my services.

First off, Brad and Richard, thank you for the offer on helping with the list/s. We are going to stick with the current mods we have as they feel it’s a non issue to take care of them.

That said, we will have the two lists on their own forum sections that I’ll create. One will be the 1/4 mile 10.999 and faster capped at 150 trucks. New/faster times will bump the slowest off the list. Adding more 10 sec trucks is redundant and honestly, this is a pretty cool problem to have! Retired trucks will stay, there is a lot of nostalgia on that list that this forum, industry and tech derived from.

1/8 mile list will be 6.499 and faster. 7.999 is way easy to achieve, 6.499 is a faster time than what the 1/4 mile list has (in retrospect) but from what I see, it’s a good number to strive for. Not necessarily easy to get on and little tough for a stock engine to achieve . Right now there is no truck cap (how many on the list) as obviously we gotta see how it grows.

Open to thoughts and opinions.

I'm not sure what you're getting at. How would raising the bar to 6.49 from 7.99 help?

7.00 in the 1/8 is approximately a 10.92 in the 1/4.

NHRA uses 1.6 as the conversion factor, does the diesel industry use a different number? I've always used 1.55


If you guys are worried about the list getting too big, why not just have an 1/8mi only list but cap it at 50 trucks and no minimum time? List would be fairly full to start, but wouldn't grow a lot, just get faster as slower trucks get bumped out.

I just did a quick google search on Wallace Racing's 1/8 to 1/4 conversion table so 1.6 may be more accurate. We all know my junk ain't going onto that list until 2021.

Smidge late to chime in but would hope its not a 7.99 list... 7.9 is like a Mid 12 pass.... I could see like a 6.70 or 7.0 ( 7.0 is in the 10.8-10.9 range ). I do like the idea of 1/8th since your now fastest trucks in the nation ( for the most part ) all are limited to 1/8th as Luke said.

My vote would be 6.70 and down. Thats a mid to high 10 and fitting for the 1/8 classes. Although a 6.50 and down would certainlinly limit the work load to keep the list updated.

Only pickup I have running right now does an 8.70 so it doesnt matter to me anyway. My New Balance kicks might make the list though.

HI guys, it's been a while! I would think the 6.99/6.50 or so threshold would be pretty good if you're going to make a list. I looked at the 10.99 and quicker list for nostalgia sake, and holy cow are a lot of the fast times are from a long time ago. I agree with you Tom, that's an old list and 1/8 mile is probably more relevant now. In my area diesel drag racing is pretty much dead.

Just for reference my truck was at a high of #13 on the list back in the day. It's #61 now. That's how far this stuff has progressed.
