    Street tires

I don't think I can go a tad higher on the tire size, but I prefer not to go any less on the width. My tire size is the perfect size and looks that I've been trying to achieve. Any higher it'll rub my washer tank worse and I've already gone through 2 from rubbing a hole at full lock lol. Next...

    Fuel knock

He's not wrong, I have the same situation at 267k miles on it. It'll run fine driving normally but towing heavy or running WOT, you'll notice quick enough. My lift pump is basically band-aiding it along with the new cp3 I did while doing head gaskets. I know it's expensive but it's better to...

To build or not to build?

Get the engine with the cp4 failure and rebuild it with Callie's compstar crank, along with the stuff you have on your current engine. You're more than likely to go through a snapped crank again if you take the complete drop in engine.

    Street tires

So I'm in the market for a new set of shoes. I guess my tire size is somewhat limited as they are 305/50R20. I've always ran Nitto 420s and towed with them, they have never let me down as I've been through 2 sets and each time they lasted me 60k miles. Now they're being replaced to the 420v and...

    Compound turbo tuning

Finally got around to doing a new set of logs. See what you guys think might be the issue. You may notice on the vane position that dropped to the low 10's, I immediately noticed that and found a discrepancy in the vane setting that was easily overlooked by me and corrected that, should be fixed...

    Compound turbo tuning

From watching on my insight gauge it'll drop down from 65-50 to 23% and hold there since that's the set minimum vane position. On my last tune which was my last log before I made adjustments to the torque limiters, it'll drop down to 70mm³ and hold there. Definitely will do sometime this week...

    Compound turbo tuning

What else would be limiting at the top end. First I thought it was the torque limiter so made some adjustments, and it's a little better but still the same issue. Something is pulling back and I'm unable to figure out by looking at the logs.

So... After a while of going back and forth on the tune trying to get it dialed in, still coming up with the same issue of falling on its face at the top end. Thinking it was the torque limiter, had it raised with the help of member on here, it's still falling on its face at the top end. Now...

    Chevy1925 (James) Truck/motor build

I knew you would get the limo back eventually. That's your pride right there, all the memories and time you spent on it whether it's good or bad. That's what you built and learned on.

You got lucky. As soon I saw this, I hopped right on rock auto and it's still showing me out of stock.

    Brake issue

I can confirm this. Went through 3 sets of napa fleet brakes and none of them performed or lasted as they should in 2 different vehicles. The rotors warped every time when I'm towing, ACDelco brake parts (or raybestos which makes the brake parts for ACDelco) lasted much longer and performed...

    When to upgrade!!

50k for a 4 year old truck with nearly 100k miles is still too much imo. By the time you finish your payments, you're still dumping money into it for repairs from wear and tear. It ends up being more money into it that what it would cost to keep fixing your 21 year old truck that's already paid...

Bumping it up Checking to verify if the Cardone 978418GB is not coming in as 4 bolt units opposed to the 6 bolts which every one is trying get before I order it. Nobody wants to do the same job twice over poor quality parts.

Thanks Brad. 100% is really my goal. Hopefully I'll get it next year.

    Compound turbo tuning

Bigger injectors are the next thing to add on this. Ended up having to put it back together so I could use it to take the family camping. I know my injectors are due for a replacement but its not making low rail pressure.. yet. Now I need to find out how big of an injector can the exergy...

    Compound turbo tuning

I believe so. It's a JZ Mfg 63mm, got them through Brad. I originally wanted Danville and thought they were gone for good until Brad mentioned that JZ is practically a Danville turbo. I'm very curious what's Mark's tuning would be like with this turbo.

    Compound turbo tuning

That's what I figured. The only thing I did to the tcm was to raise the shift points to keep it in the torque range. In factory, it would be too low of an rpm and lug especially when I'm towing with the t/h on. I did this with my single turbo setup to keep it from smoking at low rpms. Now it...

It does downshift depending on how fast I'm going with light throttle then mash it. I have a 1078 converter, that shouldn't be my issue? I do feel like it's in the tuning that I'm not aware of. Maybe more fuel down low in the pulse width?

    Compound turbo tuning

Got the vanes almost dialed in, still trying to get it to spool like near stock. I'm uncertain at the moment if lowering the vane position would assist with the turbo spool up, I've made 5% adjustments by going more and less and didn't get much of a difference to notice. Also still adjusting the...

    Wheel fitment question

Those wheels clearly look like a 0 offset, it won't push the wheels far out that much. It's probably a 4.5" backspacing. It'll be fine on your lowered truck. Won't stick out like an eyesore or dummies with wheel spacers.
