    Head gasket

Before this thread I wasn't aware anyone pulled the cab on a Duramax truck to get the engine out.

That's crazy, we can pull the motor in less than 2 hours. You've got a good point about the the AC, we have a machine so I don't think much of having to recharge it.

I honestly have a hard time believing that. You can pull these motors very quickly.

LB7: Bad FICM? Shorted to power?

Honestly you can probably find a good used one for 150-200.

    Time to replace it.

LB7: Bad FICM? Shorted to power?

Nothing should ever have power on it's case. The case should be grounded.

I'll be the first to admit I don't have experience with big tires on a lifted truck, but on my Reg cab with a MLG-K, it's a great setup.

I've towed 14k across the country on a FI S468/87 and it worked like a champ.

Lots of options. Coilovers, drop spindles, or control arms. If you want to come down more than drop keys can going you've got to switch out some parts.

    Bad parts counter experiences

Number one problem I have isn't necessarily the people, but the polices. I often need parts overnighted for customers cars and most dealerships don't have either an option for shipping or an option for shipping overnight. It's very frustrating calling Jaguar dealerships around the country...

    Cknight199 motor build thread

I'll chime in, I've had one of their 85% pumps fail on me after 15K miles. I've also received a set of injectors from them that didn't have the nozzles torqued to the body. That was a fun problem to track down on an LB7. I've yet to have Exergy anything fail on me. The only guys that have...

Summit doesn't specifically say they're SFI rated so I'd guess mines not. I didn't really look into it because it's not nessacary for me.

    Injector lines...

I will say, there are semi flexible lines that exist and can handle the pressure. You'd have to do some research, but it's not out of the realm of possibility.

Only (2) choices in synthetic 15W40?

I've also ran different oils and both 5w40-15w40. I've never seen a significant change in oil pressure, except hot when I used 5w50.

Only (2) choices in synthetic 15W40?

I don't see any reason to run a 15w40 over a 5w40. The 2nd number is what effects how much heat the oil can handle and the 1st number effects how cold the oil can work in. 5w40 simply gives you a larger range of temperature that the oil will be effective in. For the record I run Schaeffer's...
