Injector lines...

This may be a stupid idea, but an idea none the less. I know gassers do it but have never seen it done on a diesel. Has anyone ever replaced there injector hard lines with braided line and AN fittings? Seems like a cool idea in theory and it would definitely look cool. In my mind the problems I see would be possible leaks more so than with a hard line and the fact that it would appear nobody has done it...probably a reason for that and I may look stupid for this idea but what the hell never know until you ask right? Haha so let's start a conversation on this, pros,cons, can it even be done? Idk.

Are you talking about the supply and return lines or the actual eight injector lines? The injector lines can't be done, they have to hold 26k psi or more. Plenty of people have done the low pressure side in various soft lines.

Yea I was talking the actual 8 injector lines, I figured it was something along those lines or someone would have done it before, to bad would definitely look pretty neat. Thanks for the input sir

Best way is to clean up all the hard return lines with AN stuff to a distribution block. Minimizes some of the line spaghetti for a clean look.

As mentioned the high pressure lines are there to stay.

I will say, there are semi flexible lines that exist and can handle the pressure. You'd have to do some research, but it's not out of the realm of possibility.

There is hose that can do it. There's several options for flexible hose that handles 30-40k psi. Even 60k.

But I don't think it would cleaner at all. You can't bend a flexible line 90* like you can a hard line. You might even need to go to opposite rails to avoid having a big loop on each line.

Hmmm I'm going to do some digging and see if I can find it, I mean if I'm spending all this money to build the engine I'm not against spending some money on something like this to just make things different. I guess if I find this stuff I could buy enough to do one side and mock it up to see how it looks if it looks horrible..well atleast I only paid for one side

You need to contact the manufacturers and check the fittings they can use. Also if the hose is fuel rated (some are some aren't) and make sure it's rated for a high enough temperature that it won't be compromised by under hood temperatures.

I thought about doing this for the possibility of lifting the upper valve covers up and out of the way and chaning injectors without removing the lower covers on an lb7.

Sadly, that wouldn't work because you can't get to the return lines without removing the lower valve covers.

That would be pretty legit! Someone needs to do this!! I for one am going to contact some of these companies that make the flexible braided line that's 30,000psi+ capable and try this out on my LBZ. If it doesn't work they are at least getting powder coated along with the fuel rails and all of the remaining hard lines. I'm in the process of building a custom 4'x4'x6.5' powder coat oven!
