1500rpm 5th gear TC locked. Accelerate as hard as you can not to downshift and see how long it takes to reach 20psi gain looking at the map sensor.
Same thing from a standstill. No boosted launch, just hit wide open and look at the log to see how long it takes to go from 0-20psi.

Can you do the lag test in 5th? Standing test will have to wait until after you get the trans fixed

If he does the paint right, it will hold up great. Be careful on the pattern as dipping round pipes on top of the bends will skew/stretch pats of the part. Pick something busy and wild!

My brothers trans was still holding but he went through 2 head gaskets in 40k miles (second had studs and new head). That trans is very expensive to make it hold any respective power.
Good trucks!! Best low end torque of the diesel engines I've been around. Tows like a champ! Very comfortable and well designed.
Not going to be fast, don't get carried away on the HP or the head gaskets and auto trans will take a dump.
I think there were a couple recalls on the front...
