Yes, most likely the Arias but looking into a few other options.

    Engine autopsy

The pics I posted are of my motor, finally got to tear into it. It broke at the track back in June when I coasted to a 10.74 - mechanics trucks is always the last one to get worked on. I also found the stock flex plate was starting to crack - I'm surprised it held up to the abuse for so long...

    Tuning for NEW camaro's

I have written very mild performance/economy tunes for the gassers, mostly 1/2 ton trucks but a few others as well. I don't advertise it as adding significant power but it will give better mileage, throttle response, and correct the shift points to keep you in your power band. I completely...

    Cost of 08 6speed trany build ?

Not trying to violate vendor policies - just answering questions that have been asked about me, and clarifying some things that have been said. Sorry Edit Kat

    Changing head gaskets. Advise?

Well the truck is in the shop with the heads off waiting for the injector cup O-rings so I can reseat the cups and take them to the machine shop. He thought about having me check the cups first but it's a good thing he listened and didn't go that route. The truck had certainly been previously...

    Engine autopsy

You can add 8 more pistons to the list. Here is the one that completely let go: The other 7 were cracking in the same places - on each side of the bowl directly above the wrist pin:

    Still Wheel Hopped

Looks like the Cal-Tracs are hurting more than they're helping. Without spring clamps or traction bars I've seen trucks leave smoother, even while spinning. In street tires I used to run 38 PSI front and 28 PSI rear and was able to cut 1.65 60' times. Just double checked with a customer that...

    Installing a electric water pump

Mine is my daily driver and I just have it wired to come on with the key - no need to manually turn it on that way. You could wire it that way and also have a manual shut off switch. Just leave it on unless you need to turn it off to warm the truck up.

    s475 replace s480

I haven't been doing full HTT turbos lately. After a 3 month old turbo had a bearing failure which then cause damage to wheels and comp housing with only 3,000 miles; then they refused to cover anything under warranty I don't really like to give them my business. I installed an aftermarket oil...

    s475 replace s480

What does that have to do with anything? From BullsEye (which is who supplies a lot of the aftermarket turbo guys) the race cover comes with a V-band outlet unless you specify otherwise - I always get them with a 3" hose style outlet so that you don't need any adapters though. The way to tell...

    Installing a electric water pump

I tried every type of welding and even had a groove machined in the ends of the shaft and impeller and gear to lay a nice weld into. I even machined 1/4 of the fins off to lighten the impeller and make it grab less water. But for a temporary fix I can see doing it. As far as welding the...

    s475 replace s480

You would need to machine the cover and cut the pocket bigger on the compressor backing plate, then the S480 wheel would fit. The turbo you are running now is an S475 with a T6 1.32 housing, 96mm turbine, 75mm compressor, and a race cover. The only difference between that and the S480 you are...

    Installing a electric water pump

You can't have the same truck and same driver in the Diesel Power Challenge more than once - unless they win and are coming back to defend their title. More Diesel Addiction trucks will be entered for next year though.:thumb: Advance Auto pumps are around $110 - we haven't had any issues...

    Installing a electric water pump

Actually I didn't install the electric pump until after the Diesel Power Challenge. I replaced one a few hours before leaving for the Challenge and surprisingly it lasted through 3 days of beating on the truck without breaking; it let go on the way home from the awards dinner. I replaced it a...

    Installing a electric water pump

On the way to the track it didn't get over 175* in the dash on a 90* day. At the track I could very quickly cool it down very quickly by having the truck off and the electric pump and fans running. I only got to make 3 passes and it stayed cool during those runs; but it came home on a trailer...

    My day job...

I got to go SPIE rigging under a 46 over in Okinawa - definitely something I will never forget. I worked on the engines from them for 5 years so occasionally when they needed people for training ops they would call our shop to ask for volunteers.

    Installing a electric water pump

Sorry but I didn't get any pictures. It was very basic though. Took a broken water pump that the gear had spun off of, pulled the seal, pulled the snap ring, punched the shaft and bearing out, punched the seal out of the impellor side. That left me with just the aluminum bearing housing part...
