    That's all I did in my motor minus the coating. 3 years and running strong(knock on wood) runs 10's every time out at 7200+ lbs. Personally I think alot of guys put stuff in their motors that aren't needed and just add expense.

    forged pistons?

    I have 3 years on my motor, LB7 cut pistons that are not coated, rods and headstuds as my only motor mods. Have in the neghborhood of 300 passes on it lots of those above 125 mph ( have been as high as 131mph) at 7200lbs. don't know if it's 1000hp or not. I do drive my truck as a daily driver.

    I've got a 66 and 4718. trapped 130mph at 7200 lbs. ran 10.80's. running socal 100% overs. I wouldn't go over 60% if you are concerned about smoke. Mine doesn't smoke at idle and will haze just a bit if you are friendly to the pedal, if you mash it, it will smoke until the big charger lights.

    Only difference is carwin would be done in the first not second round. Barring a fluke, Cain is done within 2 rounds.

    weighed the truck yesterday. without the backseat, passenger seat, spare tire, hitch, rear bumper and tailgate it weighed 6960 with no driver.

    Up here you never know what you may line up against. There are alot of fast sleepers at street legals. There is an eagle talon that looks stock that pulls well over 150 mph.
