    LB7: Blew turbo

I've bought 3 sets of injectors from them, and never had a problem. The reman lines were a disaster, but on the whole, they are good to work with. So while those turbos might be excellent, it isn't a guarantee based on vendor name alone. It is worth being cautious, I guess is what I'm getting...

    LB7: Blew turbo

Oh yes they would. Their "reman" LB7 fuel lines are a steaming pile of garbage. Put a set on my Suburban, and 4 of the 8 leaked. Over-torqued them as much as I felt safe, and 3/8 still leaked. Pulled them off and looked at them, and they are garbage. They get used lines, throw them in a parts...

    LLY: Well there's your problem.....

I did ARP studs on my truck back when the motor was stock. Drove it a couple years, then had a glow plug go through the #1 cylinder, so I tore it down. One of the ARP studs had backed out of the block all the way until it hit the valve cover. I had done those studs using ARP assembly lube, per...

    Chevy1925 (James) Truck/motor build

Once you're happy with the setup, will the changes make their way back into the base DT OS? Or at least as an option for people with similar aggressive clutches? Mine has a hard 2-1 shift when cold as well. Not enough to lock the tires, but enough to get your attention, especially the first cold...

    U0100 & abs C0035/40/55

The ABS module is on the driver's side near the front. If it got filled with water, it could be causing all kinds of problems. I'd start there, then look for damaged wiring under the truck. Something might have gotten caught on a rock/branch and ripped some wires apart.

    2013 LML Injector fuel knock

Man, this has me nervous about the LML swap I'm doing for my uncle. We're putting a 2014 LML into an old F350. Pre-smog, so it will be deleted. I figured it should be pretty straightforward, but now I'm doubting myself... Is this something where you need CAX files to adjust hidden tables for a...

    2020 hd

That's a good feature. TopGear (or The Grand Tour, I forget which it was at the time) had a BMW get stuck in the middle of their track because the key fob was left at the previous filming location. I'm normally not a fan of biometrics for security, but for a car/truck, it can make sense. A...

    2020 hd

Push to start & keyless entry are pretty great for laziness. But for a work vehicle like a truck, it can be nice to have the key so you explicitly tell the truck what you want to do. You can usually get to all the modes (off, accessory, on, run) with the push button, but it isn't as intuitive...

Attempting to program TCM with Tech2. Calibrations out of date

It sounds like your cracked version of TIS2000 has problems. You can download and try a copy from a different location, or you can use the real TIS2Web in passthrough mode. It's $40 per VIN to flash any/all modules for 2 years. I have a clone Tech 2, and it seems to work fine with TIS2Web.

    Head Resurfacing

They can be machined quite a bit if your machine shop knows what they're doing. You have to recess the valves & seats back to spec after taking a good amount off the surface, and if you take enough off, you have to machine the intake surface so the clamshells still line up, I am told. I've had...

    Generic code. NoX sensor one

If it was me, I'd have the dealer do the injector, I'd do the glow plugs myself (or not bother at all if it isn't cold where you live), and then clear the codes and see if the NOx code comes back. If it does, then throw in the sensor. If not, hey, you're done!

Stone Cold after cooling flush and Tstats

It really sounds like the new thermostats aren't closing fully. I've had thermostats be bad out of the box. I would personally change them again. It isn't hard, you don't need to drain all the coolant, just a bit. They are right on top, very easy to get to. Make sure you put in the 180°F rear /...

    Duramax Diesels Corvette Club

If I recall, the difference is the 5 wire is actually a MAF + IAT in one sensor, where the old 3 wire is just a MAF, with a separate IAT sensor. The car may not have used an IAT, so you might have to add the 2 pins to the harness and stick an IAT sensor in the intake somewhere.

    Explaination of three-character engine codes?

I usually just Google the RPO code. You can find 90% of them without too much effort. Or Google "GM RPO codes" and look for websites with big lists of them. I don't know of any one master list, besides asking the dealer.

    Explaination of three-character engine codes?

The 3 letter codes are known as Regular Production Option (RPO) codes, and it is a system used by GM since at least the 90s to track what options a vehicle was built with. There is a Service Parts IDentification (SPID) label on vehicles up to 2018 that shows what RPOs it is equipped with. During...

    Gpcm delete help

That would be a CAN termination resistor across the CAN + and - wires. You'll need a pinout for the GPCM connector to figure out which 2 wires it was. My diagrams don't go new enough to help, sorry.

    Schrader valve delete question

I think he's saying he removed the fuel lines going through FICM. I've been running my FICM dry for 4 years now with no issues.

    Schrader valve delete question

The factory LB7 plumbing setup is kind of retarded. Sounds like the new engines aren't much better. I think it was all tied together on my LB7 too. I redid all the lines. I figure if he's able to run new lines to the CP3, he should be able to redo the return setup too. But good heads up...
