    LB7: coolant leak

    Check the valley, there are several coolant lines in that area that fill the valley then drain out the back of the valley, down the back of the engine on the passenger side. There is a drain hole at the back of the valley directing fluids in that area you describe.

    Oh, Make sure you check the valley really good before you start tearing into that downpipe… The leak maybe on top of the motor and filling the valley up and then coming down on that side of the adapter plate. Very common.

    That's not a flywheel access plate. It's a rear adapter block off plate. Coolant flows thru the adapter plate and into the rear of the heads. The plate behind the dp is rectangular shaped and has 2 bolts holding it down. Not sure if the dp needs to come off but it prob does. That plate has a...

    Yes they only fit correctly one way.... If you put them on backwards, it will leak.

    The drain line comes with the dent from the factory..... I think the minions do it on the assembly line just to mess with us. Lol.

    Driver side up pipe needs to be removed completely to get the turbo drain. If you glue the up pipe gaskets on to the turbo it will make your life a lot easier when re-installing. Also the one on the driver side up pipe.

    Ive been running an LB7 in my chevelle now for 7 yrs. and just this yr I felt it was necessary for a fan..... It was a stock LB7 tuned, making approx 600hp and weights in at 4200lbs. I put over 50k miles on it like this, no fan whatsoever and always on this tune. Live in Northern Ca, summers...
