    E35B Post-Flash Issue - Am I alone?

So I flashed this truck with HPTuners yesterday, just to prove a point, and it worked fine, no issues, truck started. So I decided to try the 6/17 beta build of Efilive, and flashed in the newest version of my modified file, and the truck started and runs. Two issues I noted: I tried to read out...

    2009 LMM Flashing issues

My experience with that issue has been that a noisy bus is the most common cause of loss of communication in the middle of the flash. Is it happening during the programming phase or during the erase phase, or during the re-boot?

    Help please, dropped driveshaft

Guy really over-built those kickstands haha. Yes, if this route is taken, a reliable, properly maintained and inspected, manned piece of hoisting equipment is highly recommended.

    Help please, dropped driveshaft

I'm not saying this can be done by anyone, but if you have a reliable piece of hoisting equipment capable of lifting the rear end of the truck about 6ft in the air while you replace the extension housing, it can be done without taking the trans out. Transgel helps too.

    Harmonic balancer puller for 6.6

Yeah, the equipment I've seen rattle the standard hardware loose without locktite or safety wire are big grinders and reprocessing for scrap materials, which see a lot of variable load and vibration.

    Harmonic balancer puller for 6.6

I have certainly had some loosen up on large electric-driven machinery, but aerospace grade fasteners can be used and safety wired to prevent it. I feel like Banks' version of the fluidampr was made like this, but I could be misremembering.

    Harmonic balancer puller for 6.6

I've never once had a stock balancer that I needed a puller for, even after shearing the pin. Great ingenuity though!

Ok, so this is why having a schematic of the circuit and a diag procedure would be helpful to you. You would notice that many of the modules data comm circuits are in series, not parallel. So if you disconnect one in the middle of the "start" (DLC) and the "end(s)" (ECM and resistor in the...

If you buy the module from him, all you really need to do is transfer the fuel injector flow rate codes over from your ecm. Not an intensive process. But the reason I posted in this thread, is because you have not actually done enough diag to prove that the gpcm is the issue.

    E35B Post-Flash Issue - Am I alone?

Did some more messing around with this truck today. Installed new bcm and updated it with SPS. No more short to ground on the HS Canbus with key off. Updated the ECM with SPS. Communications with the ECM to and from other modules was immediate, truck started. Read out the new ECM file with EFI...

    E35B Post-Flash Issue - Am I alone?

I still have a lot to learn about databus systems. I was comparing my findings to what the diagnostic procedure was telling me I should be seeing. The 5000 ohms didn't bother me much because it was consistent with what I was seeing in a couple of the other truck I had here to compare to. The...

    E35B Post-Flash Issue - Am I alone?

Another update: The truck with Canbus issues ended up needing a new TCCM and new VCIM to resolve shorts to ground on the high side circuit of the HSCan. The other truck, I assumed had no Canbus issues because I was able to communicate with every module fine until an ecm file flash, acrually...

You can get schematics and pinouts from alldata or gmupfitter. Procedure is buy a loadpro and have a good multimeter, disconnect the circuits you need to test at both ends, hook one end to 12v, put the loadpro in series at the other end to ground. Press the button on the loadpro and watch for...
