    AFAIK its not really the plastic itself thats the issue, just the overall filter when compared with the Racor made AC Delco. The Napa/Wix has a Nominal Micron rating of 7 while the Racor is 4. The Racor is also supposedly better at removing water than the other filters. It does use a...

    Techangle=Huge Timer Saver

    That, they store torques and do a lot of other things. Most importantly to me they have a better handle design that doesn't like to shut off in the middle of torqueing. Plus I got my 3/8 just before they switched to the fine tooth heads.

    You don't need to drain trans but the lines will drip enough out so put a pan under them. I've never used a repair kit, just done the factory line replacement. It's not terrible to do. The repair kits are easier.
