Oil Pump LB7 vs LMM
Ran into that many times. Not the case with this one, noise there with water pump removed. Gone with oil pump gear removed. New oil pump gear did not fix it. Replaced oil pump and crank side gear and motor is back in truck. Been busy with 2nd crop hay but going to get it running again this weekend.- durallymax

Piston top ring position
Guy or somebody would have more precise measurements or what the real ones are, these are what I measure off a pre production LB7 engine piston I have. From top of piston to top of each ring groove. 1st: 0.395" Expansion:0.673" 2nd: 0.879" Oil: 1.098"- durallymax

So are you running the LLY injectors or LBZ injectors? Since the LBZ's dont fit in the LLY without machining I assume you are still using LLY injectors? But you are using the LBZ electronics correct? You need to swap the injectors, I dont think the LBZ electronics will fire them because they...- durallymax

If you have both motors, it may be easiest for you to just swap the injectors FICM and wiring harness from the LLY to the LBZ. The LLY injectors fit in the LBZ heads but the LBZ injectors do not fit in LLY heads without machining. You will need to grind a tooth off of the LBZ crank reluctor...- durallymax
