    they may need extra weight to balance, or could be out-of-round. I've bought blems and also got 'test' tires Denman would sell them for $100/ea so we had one of the first sets of 17-40 and 18.5-44 ground hogs even before they went on sale to public. they were good tires too.

    chrome vandium is a mix of alloys to make steel stronger. they just don't have the heat treat and draw process down to make it strong. black smith I know buys the stuff, tests it and heat treat/ draws it and makes them decent tools.

    I think you need more RPM, will the ppe let you rev to 4000? w/ 285s mine tops out at 120 ish w/ stock rpm limiter.
