    D*mn transmission! Need Help!!

Well, I'm gonna try changing the fluid and filters, and maybe adding a PPE shift kit. I't seems to be working fine now as long as I let it warm up for about 15 or 20 mins. That should last until I have the money to send it off and have it built.

    D*mn transmission! Need Help!!

Haha. Yes I have checked it, and it did seem a little thick and dark but didn't really smell burnt that I could tell. I've been sick the past few days though so it might just be my nose.

    D*mn transmission! Need Help!!

It only acted up when it was cold outside, like in the teens. The truck also has 120,000+ miles on it. I don't know that the previous owner ever had the fluid and filter changed. Do you think maybe the fluid is so old or thick that it's taking longer to warm up and get to moving around in there?

    D*mn transmission! Need Help!!

Oh ya, I know I show the PPE on my sig, but it's not on the truck yet. It just came in the other day and I lent it to a buddy to do some pulling with his truck. So since I have owned the truck it hasn't been touched by a programmer.

    D*mn transmission! Need Help!!

I know but I'm at work and don't get off for another 12 hrs. I am going to get the codes as soon as I get home in the morning. I just bought this truck a few months ago, but I think the tranny is probably stock! Does this sound like limp mode possibly? I have heard about that but don't know much...

    D*mn transmission! Need Help!!

Ok, I haven't got to run the codes on it yet because I have been working nights, but heres the rundown. My wife went to leave work the other night after letting the truck warm up for about 15 mins. She put it in reverse and backed out, then put it in drive and it didn't grab. So she put it back...

    Electronic PPE boost controller...

Not very old. I just got it. I think I am going to wait until I get the tranny beefed up before I get the Hot+2. I could probably live with a used one, it depends how much. I have to upgrade in small increments right now. Got a baby due in around a month. Pluss I am rebuilding my Chevelle...

    Electronic PPE boost controller...

So how do you guys feel about the PPE electronic boost controller? How many of you have actually used it? Can you really just turn up the boost to like 40 psi I think is what it said? Also, if I have a PPE programer already, will do it already? I know thats a lot of questions, but it saves...

I had the same problem about a month ago. Mine turned out to be the o-ring on the bleeder valve next to the primer. And I never had problems with gelling in my powerstroke, but for some reason I do in the Dmax. So I just run some diesel cleen in it sometimes. Haven't had the starting problem...

We are about to do some cam, gear, and tune swapping between now and march and would be nice to dial it in at a track. If any on you guys know of a track open please let me...

    Racing in 4WD?

Ya I found them on henrys' site. I'll just have to save up some more money. I think I'll get the center link and sleeves at the same time. Not that my truck puts out enough power to really need them yet, but I hope to eventually. I guess the extra strength would just ensure I don't mess them up...

Cool! I thought for sure I would be straining something too hard. Who on here sells the tie rod sleeves? I would like to buy from someone off this site sense I get so much knowledge from here anyway.

    Racing in 4WD?

I'm new to racing 4WD trucks. I know I hook up better in 4 High, but I don't know how hard it is on the transfer case. Should I launch in 4 high then switch into 2WD or just leave it in 4 high? I have heard both recomendations. I can also see where either would be hard on the transfer. I also...

I live in Snyder tx. I'm right in the middle of Lubbock, Abeline, San Angelo, and Midland. I am about an hour / hour 1/2 away from all those towns. Sorry it took a minute, I've been a bit busy.
