    thanks, will press on with the hunt.. think im gonna swap out T-stats for a more constant temp and swap out for the proper dexcool, then see if it leaks again, worst case head gasket means APR!!

    yeah, though green was crap. Dex cool has been in chevys for at least ten years... i will have to find out if it is too thin and burns up

    ok... hoping for a little help on this one... my coolant temp when the sun is out and warm (80+) is right at 210 all the time... but at night it never seems to get over 185 (witch is great in my opinion) but when it is hot and i drive for a bit i can smell coolant when i get out of my truck...

    one more question on the Mobil 1, if i swap to that as a synthetic, how will it mix with what is leftover in my torque converter?? or is there an easy way to drain the converter thru the pan? or does it completly stay searate?

    after readibg thru here i think my best bet for a stock LLY Alison 5 speed is Mobil 1 ATF... and some mystery additive?? can anyone clear up my confusion?? Thanks

    So... my LLY seemed to burn a bit of coolant when towing for 300 miles... nothing on dipstick and no leaks. i put 1/8th of a galon into the fill tank and when the air burped out it seemed fine. but as for where the colant went, im not sure if it burnedit up from towing or if i may have a HG...

    How well does the PPE work with towing.... is the tune safe with the extra load on the tranny, or should i flash it to stock while towing?

    I think i will, but i might just stick with the standard and run it on 2, think that will be safe enough... no big dragstrip dreams for this, mostly towing daily driving with the occasional burnout to embarass any ricers on the commute home :D
