Allison 5sp: Horrible noise coming from the transmission

I do it and all 3 of my trans techs do it. But yes it is a skill and we are all very experienced. from mobile

Allison 5sp: Horrible noise coming from the transmission

Well what else is spinning in 1st and second only mike? I was going off the fact that when u leave the spacer for the planet in a gmax 5 the c3 clutch spins on the splines. Makes a whirring noise 1st and second only. There are not any parts in the input assy or pump that will cause this iirc...

    LB7 slight surging

Lots of detergents in it. When I worked at gm engineering also told me atf was ok on lb7 but not the newer ones. I thouggt meh what do they know. But after the oring incident I have been gun shy. Still not totally againt it just sharing my experiences from mobile

    LB7 slight surging

I think if it doesn't lay in it it may be ok.. I had a customers set apart cleaning them.....guy decided he had a whole tank of heating oil minus well use it... I used atf to clean them....o ring were junk. It was 3 days getting replacements. Injectors all still workin great 2 years later...

Allison 5sp: Horrible noise coming from the transmission

You could have a broken c3 clutch plate or something in that clutch. Or it is a problem with the p2. All of that can be checked in truck with rear cover removal........but ya got to be good. from mobile Edited c3 to checked not changed

    LB7 slight surging

Yes I have run atf in lb7. It seemed like filling the filter with atf then running for 45 seconds then let the truck sit overnight. Do it hot then start it cold. I have had some success with this. Good luck from mobile

**CHALLENGE** - TURBO LAG TEST using a log

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Density_of_air Pv=nrt Pressure and volumn are the same. R is the gas constant so we solve that to N/t I think where n is maf and t is iat. So basically the difference between 300 degree air and 150 degree air is 50% of the mass. I hope this makes sense to you...

Porting to reach high rpm breathing

I think "charging the runner" to provide constant velocity will enhance mid range torque. Obviously smooth transition and minimum restriction is ideal for top end. If we are street driving the engine at some point we need to include cam timing/duration and the overall effect on gas flow to...

**CHALLENGE** - TURBO LAG TEST using a log

Èxactly. You will build less boost with a powermax than stock. Given you run the same tune. Pfm josh .........that's the best I can do for now. But I am sort of thinkibg it has to do with gas law and iat. If the air charge is cooler due to compressor efficiency than it Is much denser. Dense...

**CHALLENGE** - TURBO LAG TEST using a log

Pie r squared of both intakes then divide them. That is the ratio multiply by that percentage you will be close except under 100 g/s. The wire is using less current to maintain temp so you can reduce that area by about 25% from mobile

**CHALLENGE** - TURBO LAG TEST using a log

If the maf is scaled corrrectly It will be accurate. I need to get some data for you josh you will be intriqued I believe from mobile

**CHALLENGE** - TURBO LAG TEST using a log

Hey guys we need to see maf data and Iat as well in these logs. Yes lighting the turbo and getting on top of it is the goal......but I think these larger singles are actually moving sone decent air 0-20 psi after that we start to max out the maf sensor from mobile
