    I put a 16 ounce bottle in every fill up. I didn't tell the wife and she asked me why it was running smother and starting easier. I could tell the difference. Using the Walmart Ashless oil

    Great thread he posted. It's were I got the idea. But I couldn't find the pipe so I tried the pry bar under the washer and it worked. Just wanted to get some more ideas out there thanks.

    Just posting to help others with injector cup removal. I used a 3/4" concrete bolt that's 5" long. I cut a slot in top of the bolt so I could hold it with a flat head to screw the ancor down. Then use a pry bar off the rocker rail and they pulled right out. A couple needed more pressure.

    I'm still learning on diesels but those compression readings seam low for a rebuild. Did you check the cylinders for out of roundness or at least hone the cylinder. Sounds like oil is passing by the oil rings. But I could be wrong. I'm running a motor with a scored cylinder and it has 390lbs and...

    Not much at all. At idle I put my hand over the oil fill and cant fell anything If you put your finger over the PCV tube it will start to build a little pressure. But nothing I though a diesel shouldn't do

    Well need the truck and had to put it back to together. I'm going to try and get 6 months out of it. Looking for a short block to build. The bad cylinder had 390lbs with Motor luke warm And good cylinder had 410lbs compression

    Just updating. It was water pump. Drove 20 miles no more moisture under oil cap or steam coming from pcv. But at least tore down a dmax to the short block and learned a lot about it. Thanks all for the help. See my other thread for the cylinder problem.

    Ya now that you mention it the pic does look like something in the bottom. There is some areas around the top of the piston that looks like some damage. Like detonation

    Awesome thanks. Josh h shop is about 30 minutes from me. I thought it would be the coolant being mixed in the water causing the oil film to brake down in the cylinder Broke ring makes since also. But the truck was running great. Never would have guessed
