Got a pretty decent oil leak coming from my LLY. It looks like it's coming from somewhere on the driver's side. Oil filter is on tight and not leaking. Is this an upper pan gasket, or a rear main? Something else?

Oil filter is on top, driveshaft on bottom

What brian said - looks like its leaking outta the oil filter housing where it bolts to the block.

You are for sure going to get coolant out of there. The wedge part that connects the cooler to the adapter housing is coolant. Drain as much as you can and hope for the best, but it will more then likely get you.

Same as OP's pictures here. Just got worst after hgs . I also have to replace the water pump tube oring because of seapage so no all is lost. Can those orings be bought at the dealer ?

Yes, I bought them at the dealer. Haven't had a chance to work on the truck yet, going to give it a shot tomorrow and see what happens.

The two o-rings are p/n 94399279 and 97216175. I also bought the gasket that seals the water jacket in the oil cooler to the block, it's 97192667. Altogether I think I paid about $18 for the parts, at that's at full retail price.

I'll go and get them. Thanks for the part numbers. It'll probably be more than 18$ for me as Im in canada and they are arsehole here. I'll report when I get them.

My dealer had to order them for me FYI.

Got it done today. Took a short test drive and it looks ok so far, but probably didn't drive far enough for an issue to show itself.

Don't buy from a canadian dealer. Just bought them, 80$ for the 2 o-rings and the 2 gaskets for the 90 elbow

80 fricking dollar.

O-rings made in japan, no reason to rip people off

It appears that my oil leak is fixed, but now I have a tiny coolant leak. I think when I rotated the oil cooler assembly out of the way I might have torn the o-ring that goes between the oil cooler and the coolant tube that comes out the front.

Good news is that it's like 1 drip overnight, so it's not a huge deal...but any leak bugs the hell out of me.

Sorry to hear your parts were so expensive....

HELP ! How does one get the coolant pipe out ? I have everything undone, but the coolant tube refuses to come out of the oil cooler assembly !

Am I missing something?
