symptoms very rough idle and blow by pulsing out the oil dipstick insnic with dead miss and loss of power.

i dont know what the oil temp was.. but im guesing i get oil temps down it would keep pistons cooler.. what can be done to the oil squirters? open them up .00X"?

couple options...
1)no damage to cylinder wall... swap in new rod and piston..
2) damage to cylinder wall... sleave block new rod and piston
3) new short block

and increase oil cooling capacity.

right now it looks like i will be eating left overs im ~300 miles from home

ok first off, WTF is that thing
I don't see you getting the oil with a all stock truck unless you were running it really hard. I would put a oil temp gage in first if you are worried about it to see if you need to mess with it at all. What RPM/EGT/boost were you running? and yea, seems like a piston.

I've seen one of those before. Mixer of some sort IIRC.

Cooler oil would help, cooler charge with more air would work better.

Call, I might have something for ya.

the knives in a paper shredder.. from domtar paper company headed to get rebuilt.

4.63 gears 31.5" tires is 2600 rpm @70. .75 od (4l85E tranny)
i was running 65 which is ~2400rpm
ECT normal to cold at 185-190*
boost 8-10psi normal for a high sail load... low sail is 5-8psi at same speed
timing ~8-9* at cruise
havent been able to get an EGT to work reliably autometer 1600 or a 2000
i find it very hard to believe that the engine at 250hp would run hotter then then 360hp LBZ engines

If something is going on high EGTs would lead to high oil temps and not happy pistons. How was your oil PSI? steady and normal? who knows maybe you just got one with a flaw in it

Sounds like you just got unlucky, whoever made your piston must have been hung over that day. if you are towing heavy a lot a oil temp gage would be a good add on

If you have the room under the engine, can you run a 4500-5500 oil pan? Holds 4 more quarts i think, then add a external oil cooler. Should cure any oil temp issue's.
