Usually people use red, 242 IIRC. Can also use the green stuff made for interference fits. Can't remember the number. Apply to the taper and the short shank at the end that fits into the head. Can also use on the hold down bolts. Hope this helps.

272 locktite only.

I put my cups in a bath of them when I put them in. 9000 miles and tons of nitrous later, no problem. wait 24 hours before adding coolant.

I ended up using Red high temp permatex brand (Napa #) 765-2680 Loctite and just down at the tapered part where it seals and not to much ,just a decent coating , cleaned the heads good with carb clean and a 1 1/4 inch round nylon brush let it sit 24 hours added coolant and no more pressurized cooling system, well live and learn it sucked taking it apart again to do but it was my first head gasket job on a Duramax and alls well now thanks again for the help
