So just looking to see what everyone's getting for mileage towing, me and my father are towing a dual axle 18foot vnose snowmobile trailer, that we pack with goods, we prolly weigh it down to around 7-10k lbs its got radial tires And we haul with it pretty good, doing from 73-80 normally and sometimes rip the trailer down the road lol and were still getting around the same mpg which is 10.5 to11.5 mpg, this is with our 08 gmc 2500 dmax, what's everyone getting with 5th wheel trailers or campers?

I tow my 18' 2 axle enclosed trailer (5000 lbs) at 70-80 mph and average 13.5 mpg
My 20' duck boat loaded with decoys and equipment (4000 lbs) and a dog box in the bed averages 15.5 mpg

My truck is very stock untill the warranty expires but I have Ben happy with the mileage so far

Sorry to break open an old thread...

I towed a 3800# (fully loaded) single axle RV trailer that has a 4" lift (flipped axle, stock tires) and got only 11mpg at 70mph. This is towing between 6200' elevation to 8500' elevation, round trip. The nose of the trailer dips down, so I'm wondering if the trailer being non-level causes such poor economy due to the wind drag across the roof or if it's the flipped axle....

Empty, my truck gets 18-21mpg on the highway.

I recently towed a 64 thunderbird for about 100 miles and got over 16 mpg average on tonys tow tune. I don't know what it weigh exactly but i know its heavy for a car.

Towed 9000 lbs from NY to Sedona to Moab to Avon Co and averaged 13 mpg. Then Avon back to NY (2000 miles) and averaged 14.1 mpg. 5600 miles in total. 13.4 overall avg. Towed between 60 and 70 mph.

I raised the ball mount on my hitch to see if that will help the mileage while towing my small (3700#) trailer. Time will tell...
