How have you guys gone about removing the abs block on the frame rail under the drivers door? Instead of just putting a plug in the back I'd like to do away with it all together, and if I can retain the factory master cylinder. Could I just run a line to each front caliper out of the 2 outputs on the master cylinder? Thanks for the help

For the time its an auto, would like to swap it one day. I do plan to put a pinion brake on it, haven't looked into that yet. Any info on how people are doing that?

I'm going to try running from the master cylinder to each caliper and see how it works, I can always change it if it doesn't.

Attached is a picture of the pinion brake that was on my Dana 80. Aftermarket two piston caliper with a small car rotor welded to the pinion. I am going to be making a rotor for a friends truck here in a few weeks so that it is easier to mount to the rear of the transfer case instead of the rear axle pinion yoke.

Replaced the factory master cylinder with an old one from a mid 60's GM car which only has one outlet. The master cylinder was about $25. You can see it mounted to the firewall in the one picture just above the orbital steering valve for the hydraulic steering.

Just one item to point out when installing a drive line brake. The larger the diameter of the rotor that is installed the easier it is to stop the truck. Even with a small master and caliper.

There is a lot of weight that can be lost from the brake booster, master cylinder, anti lock brake block and all of the front and rear brakes. If you are going that far might as well put hydraulic steering on it and get rid of the engine driven steering pump.

I thought about that, and have to do some research on it and see....I know I have all winter to do it so I really should, but my original plan was to make a few passes and then go from there....which hasn't been the case for the last 2 years. I did get it running finally after buying it from Ed almost 2 years ago :D

Here is another pinion brake setup I just finished. Don't have the caliper mounted on the axle yet.
