LBZ has the two piece cam gear and the older engines have a regular one piece gear.

Any other differences between the gears? Can a LB7 cam gear be used in a LBZ? Are the crank drive gears the same that would allow the cam gears to interchange?

On the lbz kind your supposed to remove one of the 6 bolts and put it in the other hole on it before removing the others. That will hold it at the proper tension. If you don't do that it will spin and cause confusion. Besides that its really nothing special

Just pull that spring out and back together, dont need to buy another gear. Unless you just want less parts to mess with.
