Are there any "value priced" double stack or wide grip 1911/2011 offerings? $1200+++ is not acceptable for an STI when I can buy a polymer pistol just as capable for half that or better. But I do LOVE the ergonomics and look/style of the 1911. I just don't like their minuscule capacity.

Rock Island Armory has a double stack, it's hit or miss finding them. There are several companies that are making 2011's, I believe a company called enterprise would be a good one for you to check out. Also, I would say check out Fusion, they have plenty of parts to build your own in any flavor you want. Para ordnance also has one, but it has a ton of negative reviews, both for not feeding ammo correct, and issues with the DAO trigger assembly.

Or, you could simply go get a 10 or 15 round mag for a single stack.

Very nice. The only thing I have to complain about on mine is I didn't get the brushed metal.

I have in the neighborhood of 600 in this little guy, and it is just a blast to shoot (oh crap, pun, huzah)

I know but I don't like to have any extra clothing or materials that could possibly get in my way leaning over a rail to shoot my bow at something .
