Ya that's what I pulled in the first time. My biggest obstacle is just getting the set up correct weight, air pressure and such.

For getting weight on the front big heavy aftermarket bumpers work good or put weight in the passenger side floor board and behind and under the seat.

Also get your hooking point as close to the rear axle as rules will allow, gives the sled less leaverage to lift the front of the truck.

You also want to keep your hitch height as close to 26" as possible, the more the weight of the slep pulls your ass end of your truck down the sled digs in harder.

Tires, all terrain style tires usual work best. Alot of people think the M/T style will get better traction but they often dig to much and pile dirt in front of the sled and not let you keep the rpms up.

I pulled a regular cab in work stock class for about 3 years and did very well with it.

Here's a video of my truck last year, 1st place out of almost 30 trucks!

I'm switching to AT tires for this reason! On the bold.... IS the hitch height measured from the top or bottom of the loop? My hitch is 1" thick steel.

Hate to see this thread derailed, however it has been a very helpful thread. Hope everyone has got em dialed in for next pull where ever you are. Kinda like the armatures lesson thread, but good! Lol got trac bars done and I stalled, hopefully center link shows up tomorrow, then Friday, I hook to a 10k lb. Chunk of iron and drag it around d a buddy's yard to set weights. Wish everyone the best of luck in their Indevours! Of that's how ya spell it.

No worries! I did get to pull. Ended up pulling in both the 7000lb Open and 8000lb Open.....results were the same. Disappointing!

Ran Axle stops, front end dropped, and 35psi in front tires, and 38psi in rear. ---each pull ended up with the rear end hopping once the sled started sliding up.

The only thing I can think was happening was tire bounce since all other parts of the rear susp was solid. -- track was about 250ft and super nice clay.

Shouldnt he be running max or close to max pressure in his rear tires?

Sounds good. We are gonna pull wheels and tires off Linda's Tug Toy (79hi boy Gasser puller) and run them. They are half burnt BFGs A.T.
Roses are red, track is brown, windows up and hammer down!!

The 1st pull was bad....was getting rear end hopping once the sled started sliding up. Pretty sure was getting too much traction, and too soft of air pressure (38psi rear). The new wheels/tire setup should help. Will find out towards the end of the month!

The pull this past weekend went much better! It ended up raining for about 30 mins, they re-tilled the track....but still muddy as crap! (BFG's didn't have the bite needed to get descent speed, I think)

However the truck stayed planted, once I got to 215ft or so.....pop! Blew the EGT probe out of the exhaust manifold, and cracked it!!!

Anybody have a stock LBZ Passenger manifold?!?!?!
